TeamViewer Remote licensing covers the remote access and support plans TeamViewer sells in its web shop. The Product Specification names the product family “TeamViewer Remote (formerly TeamViewer Core)”. It lists a Free plan for non-commercial use and four commercial plans: Remote Access, Business, Premium and Corporate.[1] The Knowledge Base calls these four “standard licenses” and says all of them are designed to be used with a TeamViewer account.[3] Each plan is an annual subscription, sized by licensed users, channels (concurrent connections), sessions per channel and managed devices.[1][11] The contract terms common to all TeamViewer products are in TeamViewer licensing and TeamViewer EULA and subscription terms.
Editions
The Product Specification’s comparison table sets the licensed items side by side.[1]
| Plan | Use | Licensed users | Channels included | Sessions per channel | Managed devices | Devices to connect from |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Non-commercial | 0 | 1 | 1 | 3 | Unlimited |
| Remote Access | Commercial | 1 | 1 | 3 | Per Contract (3 remote devices) | Unlimited |
| Business | Commercial, “One seat, 1 session” | 1 | 1 | 3 | 200 | 3 |
| Premium | Commercial, “Many seats, 1 session” | 15 | 1, plus up to 4 add-on channels (maximum 5) | 10 | 300 | Unlimited |
| Corporate | Commercial, “Many seats, 3 sessions” | 30 | 3, plus up to 7 add-on channels (maximum 10) | 15 | 500 | Unlimited |
The Remote Access row uses the web-shop plan card, which lists “3 managed devices” and access to up to three unattended devices.[2] The Product Specification says only that the number of devices depends on the Contract.[1] Features also differ by plan. The number of in-session scripts rises from 5 (Business) to 15 (Premium) and 30 (Corporate), and device policies from 5 to 10 to 15. The Web API limit is 7,200, 14,400 or 36,000 requests per 24 hours.[1] The Premium and Corporate plan cards list mass deployment, which installs and configures TeamViewer on many devices at once.[2]
Metrics
This article uses five catalog rows, all defined in the Product Specification or the Knowledge Base:
- Named User License (Licensed User). Licensed users are the people who can sign in under the licence.[2] Each one is a named individual with a personalized login.[1]
- Channel (concurrent connection). One active remote connection. A user may open several sessions in tabs within one channel.[1]
- Managed Device. A device assigned to the account or company profile.[1]
- Endpoint-based License (Endpoint). The Knowledge Base calls Remote Access “an endpoint-based license designated for a single user”.[3]
- AI credit (Credit-based License). Session Insights and Tia are add-ons with 25 (Business), 50 (Premium) or 100 (Corporate) AI credits a month.[1][2]
Counting / floors
Remote Access licenses the receiving devices (as of 2026-05-08). One user may connect to at most 3 remote devices from any number of devices. Only the 3 receiving devices must be licensed, and the device that starts the connection does not. The licence has a single channel, so only one device at a time can start up to 3 sessions. Licensed endpoints can be changed up to 3 times a month, and the count resets on the 1st.[3] Deactivating and re-activating a device counts as one move. The number of free monthly moves equals the number of licensed devices.[6] Customers can buy 3 more endpoint devices at any time. Remote Access must be activated on its own account, separate from any other TeamViewer licence. It cannot connect to mobile devices or customized modules, and it does not include telephone support.[7] Catalog proof: Remote Access licenses the three receiving devices, not the connecting device (backs Remote Access licenses the three receiving devices, not the connecting device); Remote Access cannot be combined with another licence on one account (backs Remote Access cannot be combined with another licence on one account).
Business licenses a fixed set of connecting devices (as of 2026-05-08). Business is for a single user who connects to unlimited endpoints from a fixed set of at most 3 devices. After the 3 devices are activated, TeamViewer allows 9 more movements a year, for example when a device is reformatted or replaced.[3] When the install limit is reached, a device must be deactivated in the Management Console before another can be added.[8] Catalog proof: Business license: one user, fixed set of three connecting devices (backs Business license: one user, fixed set of three connecting devices).
Premium and Corporate license users in a company profile (as of 2026-05-08). Premium allows a company profile with up to 15 licensed users, and Corporate up to 30. Several licensed users may be signed in at once on different devices. Only as many of them as there are channels can start connections at the same time: one for Premium and three for Corporate.[3] Each licensed user is a named individual. Group or shared logins are prohibited, and a user slot can be re-assigned at most twice per calendar year.[1][12] Catalog proof: Named User License: no group or shared logins (backs Named User License: no group or shared logins); Named users may be re-assigned at most twice per calendar year (backs Named users may be re-assigned at most twice per calendar year).
Channels and the session limit (as of 2026-05-08). The Knowledge Base compares a channel to “an open phone line”. Business and Premium each have one channel, and Corporate has three. When no channel is free, a new connection is rejected until another session closes.[4] Premium can add up to 4 channels, to a total of 5. Corporate can add up to 7, to a total of 10.[1] Added channels are available immediately after ordering.[4] Catalog proof: Channels cap simultaneous connecting users (backs Channels cap simultaneous connecting users); Add-on channel ceilings: Premium maximum 5, Corporate maximum 10 (backs Add-on channel ceilings: Premium maximum 5, Corporate maximum 10).
Channel groups (as of 2024-03-08). On Premium and Corporate licences with several channels, administrators can reserve channels for groups of users. At least one channel must stay outside all groups and remain available to every user in the company profile.[5] Catalog proof: Channel groups need one ungrouped channel (backs Channel groups need one ungrouped channel).
Only the connecting side is licensed (as of 2024-03-08). Not every session participant needs a paid licence. Only the expert does, and the connection being supported does not.[2] Licences are recognized only when a licensed user is signed in. Without sign-in, the installation runs as the free version.[9][10] Sign-in is needed only on the computer that starts the connection.[9] Catalog proof: Only the connecting expert needs a licence (backs Only the connecting expert needs a licence); Licences are account-based and apply only when signed in (backs Licences are account-based and apply only when signed in).
Managed devices (Product Specification undated). Each Managed Device the customer designates counts as one licensed device, whether it is used or not.[1] The plan quantities of 200, 300 and 500 match the web-shop cards, which describe them as unattended devices.[2] Catalog proof: A Managed Device counts whether or not it is used (backs A Managed Device counts whether or not it is used).
Virtualization & partitioning
The Product Specification has no virtual-machine or partitioning rule. It lists terminal server support, meaning connection into individual user sessions, among the plan features.[1] Licensing a Windows Server or ChromeOS device requires Premium or Corporate. Connecting to mobile devices requires the Mobile Device Support (MDS) add-on, which is available with Business, Premium, Corporate or Tensor.[3] The Product Specification lists Windows, macOS and Linux as targets for Remote Access. For Business, Premium and Corporate it says these “can be extended to include iOS, Android, ChromeOS” with the Support for Mobile Device add-on. For Business, that differs from the Knowledge Base statement on ChromeOS.[1] Catalog proof: ChromeOS and Windows Server targets need Premium or Corporate (backs ChromeOS and Windows Server targets need Premium or Corporate).
Cloud / BYOL
TeamViewer Remote is a cloud service with no bring-your-own-license option. Connections depend on TeamViewer’s Server Services, and customers must sign up for and log in to a TeamViewer account to use the Services.[12]
Programs
- Add-ons (Add-On License). The Product Specification lists these add-ons: device-based ThreatDown Endpoint Protection, Endpoint Detection & Response, Managed Threat Hunting and Managed Detection and Response; Remote Device Monitoring; Asset & Patch Management; Asset discovery; DEX Essentials; MDM Essential and Advanced; Assist AR Lite; a Standard Integration Package; and the Remote Worker add-on, licensed per named user with up to 25 Remote Workers.[1] Remote Worker add-ons are assigned to users of a Premium or Corporate licence.[13] Add-ons are co-termed to the base subscription.[12] Catalog proof: Add-ons are co-termed with the base subscription (backs Add-ons are co-termed with the base subscription).
- Subscription License (as of 2026-07-24). All packages are billed and renewed annually, and monthly payment is not offered. Cancellation must be submitted at least 28 days before the end of the term.[11] Catalog proof: Annual billing only; no monthly payment (backs Annual billing only; no monthly payment).
- Test Period and 7-day money-back guarantee. New licences and add-ons can be returned within 7 days. The guarantee does not cover renewals.[11]
- Trial License. A commercial trial arranged through TeamViewer sales lasts 14 days, and the web-shop add-ons have 14-day free trials.[10][2]
