- Licensing Guidelines: Sophos Firewall subscriptions purchased on a hardware appliance (Network Protection, Web Protection, Email Protection, Webserver Protection, Zero-Day Protection, Xstream Protection, Standard Protection, Fusion Orchestration) and UTM subscriptions are licensed "per hardware appliance".
- Counting rules
- Each XGS (or legacy XG/SG) appliance needs its own subscriptions, tied to its serial number; renewals must quote the serial number. In active-active HA each active appliance needs its own matching licences; in active-passive HA only the active appliance carries subscriptions and shares them with the passive one. Xstream Protection carries a daily DNS query limit per model (310,000 for XGS88 up to 120,000,000 for XGS8500).
