- Juniper Software License Model Overview: a Juniper perpetual license is a "Chassis-based license tied to the serial number of the device." Licensing Terminology: an activation "identifies the product instance where you deploy the entitlement. Typically, the serial number, the UUID of the compute, or the unique cloud application instance serves as the identity for the product instance."
- Counting rules
- One feature or tier licence per physical chassis, activated in the Juniper Agile Licensing portal against the chassis serial number. Clusters and stacks count each member: SRX chassis clusters need one licence per feature per device, installed on both nodes; EX Virtual Chassis systems using Advanced or Premium need a licence in each member switch.
- Floors / minimums
- No published minimum. Perpetual licences are not portable except to an RMA replacement of the same platform.
