- Licensing Terminology: soft enforcement is the default mode; a device or application without a valid licence triggers event notifications to indicate non-compliance rather than blocking the feature. Hard enforcement applies to a small number of licences, and some products have no enforcement. Absence of blocking therefore does not establish compliance.
