- "The calculated value representing the total "value" of all Licensed objects that can be protected and/or managed by the customer using Veeam or partner solutions. See License instance calculation for VUL. In rental licenses, Instance represents the value in rental points for managed workloads. Instances may be used interchangeably with licenses." - Veeam Universal License (VUL). "All protected workloads consume one (1) license for the following licensed objects": VM or Cloud VM, 1 object = 1 license; Server or Application Server, 1 = 1; Workstation or endpoint, 3 = 1; Unstructured Data, 500 GB = 1; Identity – Entra ID, 10 users = 1 (§1.1.1). A protected workload is one that "had at least one restore point created by the software in the past 31 days" (§3.4).
