- Licensed object: "An occupied motherboard CPU socket (as reported by the hypervisor API) on hosts with VMs to be backed up, replicated, monitored, or reported on." License unit: "One (1) license unit is consumed for each occupied motherboard CPU socket as reported by the hypervisor API." (Licensing Policy v19, §3.7–3.8.)
- Counting rules
- "Only source hosts are licensed hosts where the VMs that you back up or replicate reside. Target hosts (for replication and migration jobs) do not need to be licensed. Each node of the clustered setup needs to be licensed." Sockets protect VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V VMs only (§3.8, §1.5).
