- Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide, Exceeding License Limit (page updated 2025-11-14): Socket license exceeding is "Not allowed". VUL with license autoupdate enabled: up to 10 instances or 10% (whichever is greater) processed without warning; 10–20 instances or 10%–20% processed with a weekly warning; beyond 20 instances or 20%, workloads over the limit "are not processed". With autoupdate disabled the bands are 5% and 10%. "Capacity-based (per-TB) license limit for unstructured data backup cannot be exceeded." EULA §1.2: in the event of exceeding purchased capacity "Licensor shall not provide Maintenance for such overage license use."
