- License Manager: License type "The metric used to count licenses. Supported values are vCPUs , Cores , Sockets , and Instances ." Dedicated Hosts "Provides visibility of the number of sockets and physical cores".
- Counting rules
- Counted as the physical cores installed on the Dedicated Host (reported by the DescribeHosts API and License Manager). License Manager requires Dedicated Host tenancy when the counting type is Cores; the License affinity to host rule (1 to 180 days) is available only for Cores and Sockets. AWS FAQ: with Dedicated Hosts, EC2 provides the number of physical cores installed on the host, from which SQL Server licenses to bring are calculated.
