- Windows Server is eligible for BYOL on EC2 only when (1) deployed on EC2 Dedicated Hosts, (2) the licenses were purchased before 2019-10-01 (or added as a true-up under an agreement effective before that date) and (3) the version was publicly available before 2019-10-01. Software Assurance is not required. Windows Server licenses bought through Microsoft CSP are not eligible for BYOL on AWS.
