HubSpot Credits are the consumption meter HubSpot uses for its AI agents, AI automation and certain data features. The Product & Services Catalog describes them as “a simple, flexible way to power AI agents and automation that get work done for you across HubSpot’s customer platform”.[1] Credits are consumed only when specific actions are performed, such as running a Breeze action in a workflow or an automated or recurring action. Features that need them include Customer Agent, Prospecting Agent, Data Agent and Data Studio syncs.[3] All accounts on the seat-based pricing model receive included credits.[3] The contractual rules are in section 2.2 of the Product Specific Terms, last modified on 2026-09-16.[2]
Editions
Included credits depend on the edition and the product family. If a customer has several products, it receives “the highest available credit allotment based on the highest level of your subscription services”.[1]
| Product purchased | Starter | Professional | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart CRM, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Service Hub, Content Hub or Revenue Hub | 500 | 3,000 | 5,000 |
| Data Hub or Customer Platform | 500 | 5,000 | 10,000 |
Credits per month, from the Catalog’s Included Credits table, retrieved 2026-10-06.[1] Customer Platform means the Starter, Professional or Enterprise edition of HubSpot’s products bundled together.[1] Catalog row: Customer Platform.
Metrics
The unit is the HubSpot Credit. The Catalog’s HubSpot Credits Rate Sheet lists the credits each feature uses. It distinguishes features charged per action, which use credits as the listed actions occur, from features charged per recurrence, which use credits on activation and then monthly for the rest of the subscription term while enabled.[1] Selected rates from the Rate Sheet, retrieved 2026-10-06:[1]
| Feature | Action | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Customer agent | Resolve one conversation (text-based channels) | 50 |
| Customer agent (Beta) | Hold one minute of voice conversation | 50 |
| Data agent | Generate response to one prompt for one record | 10 |
| Prospecting agent | Recommend outreach for one lead | 100 |
| Content agent (Beta) | Generate one piece of content | 1,000 |
| Knowledge Base Agent (Beta) | Generate one new knowledge base article | 200 |
| Revenue agent (Beta) | Start payment collection outreach for one invoice | 500 |
| Custom agents (Beta) | Use one action unit | 1 |
| Workflows | Execute one AI action in a workflow | 10 |
| Data studio (Beta) | Each use of a dataset (fewer than 500k rows in primary source) | 25 |
The Catalog notes that credit-consuming actions “may also be subject to other applicable service charges”. For example, an agent may also consume telephony minutes or SMS messages charged separately.[1] Custom agents and Work agents are measured in “action units”, and the number of action units a prompt needs sets the credits consumed.[1]
Counting / floors
Monthly reset, no rollover (Product Specific Terms s.2.2, 2026-09-16). “HubSpot Credits are audited daily, reset monthly during your Subscription Term, and unused HubSpot Credits expire each month.”[2] The Knowledge Base adds that the reset is aligned with the start date of the account’s usage period.[3] Catalog proof: HubSpot Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.
Included first, never additive. Included credits “are applied to your usage before any paid credits and are not additive across products”.[1] A customer with Marketing Hub Professional and Sales Hub Enterprise therefore receives the Enterprise allotment of 5,000 credits, not 3,000 plus 5,000. Catalog proof: Included credits follow the highest edition and are not additive.
Who can consume. Only users with paid seats (Core, Sales, Service and Revenue Seats) and Partner Seats can use HubSpot Credits. Free users and View-Only Seat users cannot.[3] Catalog proof: Only paid-seat and Partner Seat users can use HubSpot Credits.
Reaching the limit. What happens at the monthly limit depends on whether the customer has bought additional credits:
| State | Outcome | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Only included credits | Credit-consuming features pause until credits reset or more are bought | PST s.2.2.1[2] |
| Additional credits bought, pay-as-you-go | Excess invoiced in arrears at the Overages rate; the limit returns to its previous level the following month | PST s.2.2.2[2] |
| Additional credits bought, auto-upgrade | Credits reflecting use are added for each month of the remainder of the Current Term | PST s.2.2.3[2] |
Catalog proof: Without purchased credits, credit features pause at the limit; Pay-as-You-Go credit overages are invoiced monthly in arrears; Credit auto-upgrades last for the rest of the commitment term.
The default setting depends on the purchase date. For additional credits bought before 2026-09-16, auto-upgrade is the default. For credits bought on or after 2026-09-16, pay-as-you-go is the default.[3] The Customer Terms define Overages as “the additional fees incurred on a Pay-as-You-Go basis when you exceed your HubSpot Credits Limit”. Overages are one of the listed exceptions to the rule that the Subscription Fee does not increase during the Current Term.[4]
Overage billing mechanics. Pay-as-you-go overages are billed monthly in arrears, in increments of 10 credits, rounding down, on a separate invoice at the end of the usage period.[3] The Catalog’s rate is USD 0.010 per credit.[1] Catalog row: HubSpot Credits Pay-as-You-Go.
Auto-upgrade ratchet. The Knowledge Base gives this example. An Enterprise customer has 5,000 included credits and one additional 1,000-credit capacity pack, so 6,000 per month. It uses 6,500 credits in a cycle. Another 1,000-credit pack is added automatically, raising the monthly limit to 7,000 “for the remainder of your contract”.[3] Capacity packs can only be cancelled or downgraded at the end of the contractual commitment term.[3]
Spend limits. After a customer buys capacity packs, an account-level spend limit is set automatically at 50% above total monthly credits. The Knowledge Base example is Marketing Hub Professional with 3,000 included credits plus 5,000 purchased: 8,000 per month, with a default spend limit of 12,000. At that limit, credit-consuming features pause until the next reset. Admins are notified at 75%, 85% and 90% usage. Limits can also be set per tool.[3]
Additional credits and Agent Packs
| SKU | Price (USD) | Credits | Catalog row |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capacity pack | 10 per month | 1,000 per month for the remainder of the commitment term | HubSpot Credits capacity pack |
| Pay-as-You-Go | 0.010 per credit | Overage, invoiced in increments of 10 credits | HubSpot Credits Pay-as-You-Go |
| Base Agents Pack | 25 per month | 2,500 | Base Agents Pack |
| Growth Agents Pack | 400 per month | 40,000 | Growth Agents Pack |
| Scaled Agents Pack | 1,500 per month | 150,000 | Scaled Agents Pack |
Source: Catalog, retrieved 2026-10-06.[1] Agent Packs are “a simple, flat-rate monthly purchase of HubSpot Credits” that can be applied to any AI agent or feature running on credits. They are available as a limit increase to the Starter, Professional or Enterprise edition of any product subscription.[1] At list prices, the Agent Packs work out to USD 0.010 per credit, the same as capacity packs and pay-as-you-go.
Renewal
Added credits (those not included with another subscription) can be removed from the renewal. The change takes effect at the start of the next Renewal Term if a new Order Form is signed. A customer that downgrades its subscription tier at renewal loses the included credits of the previous subscription.[2] Under the Customer Terms, buying HubSpot Credits capacity packs is one of the purchases that can raise the Subscription Fee during the term.[4]
Audits and compliance
Credits are metered by HubSpot and “audited daily”.[2] There is no customer self-reporting. The customer’s controls are the overage setting, account and per-tool spend limits, and the option to pause credit-consuming features manually at any time.[2][3] As commentary: on an auto-upgrade account, a single month of heavy agent use raises the committed spend for the rest of the term. The billing setting is therefore a governance decision rather than a technical one.
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable. Credits measure actions in a hosted service.
Cloud / BYOL
Not applicable. There is no bring-your-own-model or bring-your-own-licence option in the retrieved documents.
Programs
Capacity packs, Agent Packs, auto-upgrade and pay-as-you-go are purchase and billing options rather than separate agreements. All of them sit under the Customer Terms of Service and Product Specific Terms s.2.2.[2]
