- Definition
- Live Licensing: "Vulnerability Management is licensed for unique assessed assets. An asset is considered assessed when its vulnerability or policy assessment data is stored in the Security Console." The MSSA definition of Volume Limitations lists "unique assets" as a capacity on the Ordering Document.
- Counting rules
- Counted once per unique asset after correlation on UUID, hostname, MAC address and IP address; an asset assessed by both an agent and a credentialed scan is not double-counted. Discovery does not consume licences. AWS and Azure instances count as one asset until terminated and drop off when decommissioned; a container host counts as one asset however many containers it runs. Nexpose uses the same rules (Nexpose Live Licensing).
- Floors / minimums
- Public list price starts at 500 assets ($1.62 per asset per month). The Security Console warns at 90%, 100% and 110% of the licensed maximum; automatic enforcement may apply above 110%.
