monday.com AI credits and usage-based offerings are the consumption-based parts of monday.com licensing. They sit alongside the per-seat subscription. The Terms of Service define Usage Based Offerings as “certain Services, features, or functionalities (including, without limitation, automations, integrations, monday AI, or other consumption-based offerings)” that are subject to usage limits.[2] monday.com describes AI credits as “the single unit of measure across all monday AI capabilities”.[1] For a licence manager, these balances are a second budget line that is sized per account rather than per user, and they expire monthly.

AI work platform (from 2026-05-06)
For customers who joined the monday AI work platform on or after 2026-05-06, AI credits are part of the purchase: “when you purchase a monday AI work platform plan, AI credits must be purchased as part of your setup”. Seats cover people and credits cover AI usage.[1] The tier sets the minimum and the available steps:
| Tier | Minimum AI credits per month | Other steps |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1,000 | None stated |
| Standard | 2,000 | 4,000 or 8,000 |
| Pro | 3,000 | 4,000, 8,000 or 20,000 |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | None stated |
Source for the table: the AI portfolio pricing article.[1] The pricing page shows the same per-tier credits and itemises them on the quote. On 2026-10-03, a 10-seat Basic plan showed “1,000 credits” priced separately from seats, offset by a “Special monthly discount”.[4] Credits can be raised to the next credit bucket without changing the seat count, from AI governance in the administration section.[1] AI features are not available on free accounts.[1] Catalog: AI credits purchase model; proof AI credits bought with seats since May 2026.
CRM, dev and service
The AI credit purchase model “applies to the monday AI work platform only and does not affect monday CRM, monday dev, or monday service”.[1] On those products, “Every account receives a one-time trial of 6,000 AI credits”. After the trial credits are used, the customer buys an AI credits add-on.[5] Some monday service boards (Tickets, CSAT survey and Incidents) have unlimited AI credits, but AI blocks used in workflows on service boards still consume credits.[6] Eligible nonprofits receive 33% off AI capabilities.[7] Catalog proof: One-time AI credits trial on CRM, dev and service.
Metrics
- AI credit. “An AI Credit is a unit of measure for the use of monday AI capabilities,” consumed when AI tasks are triggered.[1]
- Automation and integration action. The pricing page lists monthly action allowances: 250 automation and 250 integration actions on Standard, 25,000 on Pro, and up to 250,000 on Enterprise.[4]
Counting / floors
Consumption rates
| Capability | Credit consumption |
|---|---|
| AI Notetaker | 120 credits per meeting hour, measured in minutes |
| AI blocks | 8 credits per action; all actions on the same item within 24 hours counted once; subitems counted separately |
| monday sidekick | Per message: about 10 to 30 (simple) up to 150 or more (extra complex) |
| monday agents | Per task: about 10 to 50 (simple) up to 250 or more (extra complex); one run may include several tasks |
| AI workflows | Per AI-powered run, by complexity; up to 3 active workflows on Standard, 20 on Pro, 250 on Enterprise |
| monday vibe | Per message when building; per run when a published app uses AI; publishing needs a paid app bucket |
Source for the table: the AI portfolio pricing article, which notes that “Credit usage is subject to change”.[1] Catalog proof: AI Notetaker consumes 120 credits per meeting hour.
The pricing FAQ gives a sizing guide: “A typical 3-person team thrives on ~800–1,200 credits per month”, and 1,000 credits cover roughly 50 resume screenings or 5 hours of meeting summaries.[4] Because AI Notetaker uses 120 credits per meeting hour, a Basic tier allowance of 1,000 credits covers a little over eight hours of recorded meetings for the whole account if nothing else uses credits.[1]
Limits and overage
Admins can monitor credit use in AI governance, see which features drive consumption, and set usage limits. On Enterprise they can also restrict AI features by role.[1] “notifications are triggered at 80% and 100% of usage”. Some capabilities keep running for a short time after the limit is reached, and then usage pauses until credits are topped up.[1] Catalog proof: AI usage alerts at 80% and 100%.
The Terms of Service set the contractual frame for all usage balances:
- The Usage Balance “will expire at the end of the usage period and do not roll over and such are non refundable”.[2]
- monday.com’s measurement of usage “shall be final and binding”.[2]
- If the balance is exceeded, monday.com may charge additional Fees, limit or suspend the offering, or require an Upgrade.[2]
- Renewals include the Usage Based Offerings in effect immediately before renewal.[2]
- The 30-day refund on the Initial Purchase excludes fees attributable to Usage Based Offerings.[2]
Separately, account Credits (for example promotional credits) expire with the subscription or consumption period and have no monetary value.[2] Excessive use of automations is one of the examples that allows monday.com to reprice or require an Upgrade.[2] Catalog: Usage Based Offerings; proof Usage balances expire and do not roll over, monday.com usage measurement is binding, Account credits expire and have no cash value, Excessive guests or automations can be repriced.
monday AI Terms
The monday AI Terms are Specific Services Terms that take precedence over the Agreement where the two conflict. Customers keep ownership of their Input and Output, which are treated as Customer Data.[3] Customers may not use monday AI to develop or train competing AI models, to present content falsely as human-generated, or to make significant automated decisions without safeguards.[3] Section 5 states that “monday AI may be subject to additional fees”. Section 6 states that monday.com “does not use Customer Data and/or Content to train artificial intelligence models and does not allow others to do so”. Interaction data may be kept for up to 60 days to monitor and improve the Services.[3] monday.com’s indemnification obligations under the Agreement “shall not apply with respect to the use of monday AI or the Content”, and monday.com may modify the AI Terms without notice.[3] Catalog proof: monday AI may carry additional fees; No AI model training on Customer Data; No indemnity for monday AI use.
