Definition
Altair Units Licensing: "For each Altair Unit (AU) purchased, there are 1000 license features available in the license." Units-based applications run "as long as there are sufficient license features available and the required product license features are present in the license."
Counting rules
Each application checks out a published number of AUs (x1000 license features) while it runs and returns them on exit. Draws level (only the most expensive application counts) for applications on the same host and username, or stack (always added) where the draw table says so. Solvers draw by core count (In-App) or per core (Solver HPC), reduced by decay for concurrent jobs of the same solver. Leveling works only inside one license pool on one server.
Floors / minimums
No minimum unit purchase is published. Unit draw tables set the per-application cost, for example HyperMesh 21 AUs, HyperGraph 6 AUs, SimSolid 50 AUs.
