A Miro AI credit is the unit Miro uses to meter its AI features. Each AI action consumes credits, and different actions cost different amounts.[1] Every plan includes a monthly allowance of credits, pooled across the organization and reset monthly. Organizations that need more can buy additional credit packages.[3] A second limit governs the Miro MCP server, which connects external AI tools to Miro boards. It is available on all plans, “with different maximum number of API calls per day”.[3] AI credits are a consumption layer on top of seat licensing. They are not a separate entitlement per user. Catalog proof: AI credits are pooled per team and reset monthly.
Editions

| Starter | 25 per license per month | Monthly on the plan renewal date | 500 |
| Business | 50 per license per month | Monthly on the plan renewal date | 2,000 |
| Enterprise | By seat-count tier, from 2,500 per month | First day of each calendar month | 10,000 |
| Education | 100 per month | First day of each calendar month | Not stated |
Sources: AI credits help article[1] and pricing page.[3] For Starter and Business, the renewal-date reset applies even on annual plans. A March 3 renewal resets the balance on the 3rd of every month.[1] Catalog proof: AI credit allowance by plan.
AI features also differ by plan. Starter and Education include 5 Flow runs per team member and limited Sidekicks.[8] Business includes the full AI Workflows suite.[7] On Enterprise, Flows, Sidekicks and interactive AI prototypes belong to the Accelerate license. Collaborate has the General Sidekick and the MCP server.[6]
Enterprise tiers
Enterprise credits depend on the license tier, meaning the number of seats. They are pooled across the whole organization.[2] The table below is the allocation “as of March 2, 2026”.
| Seats | Monthly AI credits | Seats | Monthly AI credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 50 | 2,500 | 701 to 1,000 | 50,000 |
| 51 to 100 | 5,000 | 1,001 to 2,000 | 80,000 |
| 101 to 200 | 10,000 | 2,001 to 3,000 | 100,000 |
| 201 to 300 | 15,000 | 3,001 to 4,000 | 120,000 |
| 301 to 400 | 20,000 | 4,001 to 6,000 | 150,000 |
| 401 to 500 | 25,000 | 6,001 to 50,000 | 200,000 |
| 501 to 700 | 35,000 |

Metrics
AI credit
The AI credit is consumed per AI action at a set cost.
| AI output | Credits | AI output | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI search | 0 | Prototypes | 5 per screen |
| Text, sticky note, catch-up, remove background | 1 | Sidekicks | 2 per prompt (variable for complex flows) |
| Dictation | 1 per dictation | Slides | 5 per slide |
| Doc, space summary | 2 | Diagrams, tables, board layout | 5 |
| Image | 3 |
Source: AI credits help article.[1] Accessibility features such as image alt-text consume no credits. If Miro AI returns an error, no credit is consumed.[2] Miro cannot show the cost of a prompt in advance, and costs may change with models, cost to Miro and new features.[1]
MCP call
The MCP call limit caps requests from AI tools such as coding assistants to the Miro MCP server per day. The caps are 100 on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise.[3] Unlimited MCP Server calls are listed as an Enterprise add-on.[6]
Counting / floors
Pooling. “Credits are pooled and shared across your team. Everyone draws from one balance.” Credits refresh monthly and do not roll over.[1] Included credits are assigned per seat, so they scale with team size and are adjusted on the next billing date when users are added or removed.[1]
Who consumes. Members consume credits. “Guests and Visitors can’t run AI actions and don’t consume credits.”[1] The add-ons article says credits “can be consumed for any AI actions in Miro by any member with a full license”.[4] Catalog proof: Guests and visitors cannot use AI credits.
When credits are spent. Credits are consumed when Miro AI generates a result, not when the result is kept. Every regeneration costs again, and undoing a result does not refund it.[1] Catalog proof: AI credits are consumed on generation and not refunded.
Running out. On Starter and Business, AI actions pause until the credits refresh. Admins can buy more credits or upgrade, and members can request more.[1] “Enterprise plans have a soft limit on their AI Credit usage, which means you’ll be allowed to go over your limits.” Organisations that exceed the allocation regularly need to buy the AI credit add-on.[2] Catalog proof: Enterprise AI credit limit is soft.
Monitoring. On paid plans, Billing admins and Company admins can see the organisation’s balance. Starter and Business show it under Admin Console > Billing, and Enterprise under Admin Analytics. The balance is not shown on Free plans.[1]
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable. Credits are pooled per organization, not per user or device.
Cloud / BYOL
Not applicable; Miro AI runs within the hosted service. Under the AI Terms, Miro uses third-party providers for AI Features and may flow down their terms, which it announces on its website.[5] Enterprise pricing lists admin controls such as AI provider management and AI attribution logs. Blocking Miro AI or MCP, prompt blocking and AI custom terms of service are listed as paid add-ons.[3] An Enterprise admin can show a custom terms-of-service dialog when users first interact with Miro AI.[9]
Programs
AI credits add-on
Starter and Business can buy additional credits in bundles, for example 100 or 200 credits. Enterprise customers buy them through Sales.[1] The AI credits add-on has these billing rules:
- Additional credits attach to the subscription at organization level and follow the plan’s billing period, currency, invoice and renewal. Credits added mid-cycle are charged pro rata.[1]
- “Additional credits you purchase are organization-wide bundles, and aren’t affected by seat changes.”[1] Catalog proof: Purchased AI credits are organization-wide.
- Purchased credits also reset monthly and do not roll over. They are removed if the plan is cancelled or downgraded to Free or Education, and they cannot be bought during a Business trial.[1]
- An add-on’s billing period must match the plan’s. Yearly add-on pricing includes a 20% discount, and a cancelled add-on stays active to the end of the billing period.[4]
AI Terms
The AI Terms, effective 2024-07-17, apply when a customer enables Miro AI Features. They supplement, and do not modify, the Terms of Service or MCA.[5]
- Ownership. The customer retains its Input and “you own the Output”. Miro assigns its rights in Output to the customer.[5] Catalog proof: Customer owns AI Output.
- Training. Enterprise (MCA) customers are asked for consent before their Input and Output are used to improve AI Features. Customers on Free, Starter, Business or equivalent plans get a means to object.[5] The pricing FAQ states: “No, your data is not used to train Miro AI models.”[3]
- Indemnity carve-out. IP infringement claims about Output are excluded from Miro’s indemnity.[5] Catalog proof: IP claims about AI Output are outside Miro indemnity.
- Restrictions. Customers may not use AI Features or Outputs to train other AI models, may not present Output as wholly human-generated, and may not use AI Features for automated decisions with legal effects without adequate human review.[5]

Out of scope
- Prices of AI credit bundles, which are shown only in the product.
- The Prototypes add-on credits sold before 2026-06-29, which run until the add-on is removed.
- Third-party AI provider terms flowed down under the AI Terms.
