LICENSEWARE plans and pricing

This article covers LICENSEWARE's published plans, per-app pay-as-you-go rates and how devices are counted. For the overview see LICENSEWARE licensing.

On This Page

LICENSEWARE plans and pricing covers the five plans that LICENSEWARE publishes for its software asset management platform, the per-app pay-as-you-go rates in its Knowledge Center, and the counting units behind them. The plans page says customers can start free or with a one-off analysis and then move to a subscription.[1] All prices on this page are in US dollars as published on 2026-10-02. None of the pages carries a date.

Source: the comparison matrix on the plans page.[1] The catalog records each plan as a SKU: Free, Pay as you go, Chill, Core and Advanced.

Free

The Free plan costs USD 0, has no time limit and needs no card.[2] It includes the LICENSEWARE Collector and unrestricted NEO Chat. Every other app is available, but report output is capped at 10 rows per table.[2] The Knowledge Center describes the same free plan as unlimited data uploads across all apps with full app functionality. It adds that a paid plan is needed for unrestricted report access, custom features or broader data visibility.[7] The Free plan page states that data “stays in the EU region”, while the plans matrix shows any one of the three zones for Free.[2][1]

Pay as you go

Pay as you go is priced “From $1/ device · one-off” and has no subscription.[3] LICENSEWARE states that it includes the functionality of the Advanced plan on demand, and that any app can be run on its own or combined, for as long as needed. Pricing is per device, database or instance analysed, and volume discounts apply.[3] The plan page lists EU, US and AU availability as included; the comparison matrix shows any one zone.[3][1]

Billing can be upfront against a quotation, or monthly in arrears through automated billing based on actual usage. Once data is analysed, access to the data, reports and project results is kept indefinitely, or until the project is deleted.[7]

Chill

Chill costs USD 150 per month for estates of up to 1,000 devices.[4] LICENSEWARE describes it as a flat monthly price with “no per-device metering under 1,000 devices”. It includes NEO, Software Inventory Manager and License and Contracts Manager.[4] API connectors, premium support and advanced vendor analysis are not included. The page directs estates that cross 1,000 devices, or that need API connectors, to Core.[4]

Core

Core costs USD 3.36 per device per year for estates of more than 1,000 devices. It is described as “One annual per-device subscription, unlimited analysis across the core apps.”[5] Core adds API connectors and premium support with onboarding to the Chill content. The apps listed are NEO, the Collector, Software Inventory Manager, License and Contracts Manager, Infrastructure Mapper and Self Assessment Service.[5] The price calculator on the plans page shows USD 6,720 a year for 2,000 devices, which is 2,000 times USD 3.36.[1]

Advanced

Advanced has no list price. It is priced “Custom” and sold “via partner or direct”.[6] It adds the vendor-specific apps to Core: Microsoft Deployment Manager, Microsoft Entitlements Manager, the four Oracle apps, Red Hat Deployment Manager and Adobe Deployment Manager. It also adds extended support by SAM specialists.[6] The plans page labels Advanced as for “Complex estates”. The plan summary on the apps page describes it as for estates of more than 1,000 devices.[1][9]

Pay-as-you-go rates per app

The Knowledge Center publishes Recommended Retail Pricing (RRP) “starting at” these rates for pay-as-you-go use of six apps:[7]

App Starting at Unit
Software Inventory Manager USD 0.50 Per device
Microsoft Deployment Manager USD 0.50 Per device
Oracle Java Deployment Manager USD 5.00 Per device
Red Hat Deployment Manager USD 5.00 Per device
Oracle Database Manager USD 20.00 Per database
Oracle Middleware Manager USD 65.00 Per instance

These app rates sit beside the “From $1 per device” headline for the Pay as you go plan.[3] The FAQ repeats the same rates and says volume discounts and subscription pricing are available on request.[8]

Counting devices and other units

The Device sizes the Chill and Core plans and prices Pay as you go.[1] Pay-as-you-go use of individual apps is also counted in Databases and Instances. The Knowledge Center describes the charge as based on “the volume of data analysed (e.g. number of devices, servers, databases, or instances)”.[7] For subscriptions, the count is “Determined based on the number of relevant assets based on the product scope”. Oracle Database Manager, for example, is based on the total number of Oracle Databases.[7]

LICENSEWARE does not publish:

  • a definition of a device or endpoint, for example whether virtual machines, containers or devices found by several data sources count once or more than once;
  • a definition of a database or an instance for pricing purposes;
  • a true-up or overage rule for a Chill customer whose estate grows past 1,000 devices during a month, beyond the advice to move to Core;
  • a minimum quantity for Core, other than the plan being for estates of more than 1,000 devices.

The catalog rules are Chill scope, Core scope, pay-as-you-go counting and subscription counting.

Subscriptions and custom agreements

Beside the plans, the Knowledge Center describes a Subscription contract for end users and service providers. It grants “a defined number of users unrestricted access to specified applications”, with unlimited data and analysis runs during the term for the scoped product and asset count. The default term is 12 months, and custom terms can be negotiated.[7] Service providers can also buy an Unlimited External Subscription, covering unlimited projects, users and data for a defined customer base. It is negotiated case by case.[7] The apps page states that volume discounts and multi-year terms are available.[9]

Lansweeper customers can buy LICENSEWARE as an add-on to their Lansweeper licence, in a core bundle and an advanced bundle. No bundle prices are published.[10]

Payment and billing

LICENSEWARE accepts credit and debit cards, bank transfer and invoice, and supports most major currencies. Billing can be upfront, quarterly or monthly, and pay-as-you-go can be billed monthly on usage.[7] The catalog rule is payment methods and billing frequency.

Out of scope

Renewal, termination and liability terms are in LICENSEWARE EULA, DPA and SLA. What each app does is in LICENSEWARE apps and data sources.
