LICENSEWARE

LICENSEWARE partner programs

This article covers how LICENSEWARE is licensed to consultancies, managed service providers and resellers. For direct customer plans see LICENSEWARE plans and pricing.

On This Page

LICENSEWARE partner programs are the ways LICENSEWARE licenses its platform to organizations that deliver software asset management to others. The partners page names three partner types: end users, MSP users and resellers.[1] The partner pages publish no fees, discounts, margins or partner agreement. Enquiries go to a partners mailbox.[1]

Partner types

Partner type How the platform is used Isolation model Catalog
End users Inside the partner’s own client engagements, “behind closed doors” An isolated workspace per client; templates and methodology replicated from a parent project End User Partners
MSP users Ongoing managed SAM services across a customer base A fully isolated project per customer, with the customer invited in; white-labelling MSP partners

End-user partners

End-user partners are consultancies, advisory firms, internal delivery teams and audit practices that use LICENSEWARE inside their own engagements.[2] Each client sits in its own ring-fenced tenant. Report templates, vendor configurations and methodology are kept at a parent project and replicated selectively to each client.[2] The page describes delivery under the partner’s own brand.[2]

MSP partners

The MSP program is described as “Built for multi-customer service delivery”. Each client gets a fully isolated project, and “Data, users and results never move between projects”.[3] The MSP can invite its delivery team, its partners and the customer into the project, with access control for each person. Each project can be white-labelled with the MSP’s logo, colours and page title.[3] The FAQ confirms that projects can be white-labelled with a name, colour, logo, favicon and page title.[8]

Resellers

The reseller page offers “Subscription or pay-as-you-go” models. It states that LICENSEWARE is listed on Microsoft Marketplace with co-sell, and that the offer is “For customer sizes from 1,000 devices upward”.[4] The EULA allows the licence to be granted by LICENSEWARE “or an authorised Reseller”, and defines a Reseller as an authorised reseller of the Licensor.[7] The Advanced plan is sold “via partner or direct”.[10]

Contract types for service providers

The Knowledge Center describes the commercial models open to service providers:[5]

  • a Subscription for end users and service providers, with a default term of 12 months, sized on the relevant assets in the product scope (catalog);
  • an Unlimited External Subscription, for service providers only. It “Enables service providers to offer unlimited access to clients”, with unlimited projects, users and data for a defined customer base, typically for 12 months. These contracts are “custom-negotiated based on scope” (catalog);
  • Pay-As-You-Go, charged on the volume of data analysed;
  • custom agreements.

The FAQ adds that volume discounts are available on subscription contracts and large pay-as-you-go commitments.[8]

Data protection for MSPs

Section 12 of the DPA applies to MSP Partners under “Appendix 1G”. Each end customer is the data controller for its own staff, devices and systems. The MSP Partner is a processor, and LICENSEWARE is a sub-processor.[6] Before onboarding an end customer, the MSP Partner must have a compliant data processing agreement with it. That agreement must reflect this chain and must not conflict with LICENSEWARE’s DPA.[6] LICENSEWARE notifies the MSP Partner of a breach affecting end customer data within 72 hours, and the MSP Partner notifies its customers. The MSP Partner also passes on LICENSEWARE’s sub-processor change notices.[6] Appendix 1G itself is not published on the legal page.

Lansweeper add-on

Lansweeper customers can buy LICENSEWARE as an add-on to their Lansweeper licence (catalog).[9] The core bundle covers Software Inventory Manager, License and Contracts Manager and NEO. The advanced bundle adds the Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat and Adobe apps, Infrastructure Mapper, the two entitlement managers and the Golden Records Generator.[9] The release notes record that the Golden Records Generator was retired from the platform on 2026-07-16.[11] Lansweeper Cloud data is ingested through an API integration.[9] No bundle prices are published.
