KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training (KSAT, or SAT on current price pages) is KnowBe4’s cloud platform for security awareness training and simulated phishing. It is sold as a subscription for a number of seats, where one seat is one User with a unique organizational email address.[1][9] The current price list has two levels, SAT Foundation and SAT Advanced, priced per seat per month for a 3-year term.[1] Earlier subscriptions were sold at four levels (Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond) and priced per seat per year.[2] Both sets of names can appear in one estate: new purchases carry the new names, while renewals may carry the old ones. An administrator can see the purchased products, add-ons and subscription end date under Account Settings in the KSAT console.[11]

SAT Foundation and SAT Advanced
The price page compares the two levels feature by feature.[1] The table summarizes the rows that differ, which are the ones that decide which level a customer needs.

Two consequences follow for licence management. First, a security team that wants the User Event API, Security Roles or third-party integrations will generally need Advanced for the whole subscription: the price page prices each level per seat and shows no option to mix levels within one subscription.[1] (This reading is commentary; a Quote can say otherwise.) Second, early access to Agent Risk Manager is limited to direct customers on US instances with SAT Advanced subscriptions.[10]
Legacy Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond levels
The level sheet says the SaaS subscription “is priced per seat, per year” and offers four levels.[2] The levels build on each other:
- Silver: Training Access Level I, which includes the 45-minute Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness Training module and a 15-minute executive version. Silver also includes unlimited simulated phishing, assessments, the Learner App and reporting.[2]
- Gold: everything in Silver, plus Training Access Level II content and monthly Email Exposure Check reports.[2]
- Platinum: everything in Gold, plus Smart Groups, the Reporting, User Event and Webhook APIs, Security Roles and landing-page Social Engineering Indicators.[2]
- Diamond: everything in Platinum, plus Training Access Level III (the full content library), AI-driven phishing and AI-recommended optional learning.[2]
The 2025 edition of the sheet keeps the four levels. It lists AIDA as an optional add-on and adds Second Chance and the Graph API to the feature list.[3] Under the current price list, AIDA is included in Advanced instead.[4] The same sheet counts content per access level: 24, 87 and 282 training modules, and 4, 60 and 353 videos, for Levels I, II and III.[3] KnowBe4 states that these counts are subject to change. Catalog proof: Legacy subscriptions use Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond levels priced per seat per year.
The price page does not map legacy levels to current ones. In feature terms, Diamond content (Level III) corresponds most closely to the Advanced library. This comparison is commentary, not a vendor statement; the renewal Quote is the only document that settles which level a customer holds.
Metrics
SAT uses a single metric, the User (seat). The Terms of Service define a User as an individual authorized by the customer, for whom a subscription was purchased, with a unique organizational email address on a domain the customer owns. Users may include employees, independent contractors and agents.[9] Every add-on on the price page is also priced per seat.[1] How seats are counted, archived and reassigned is covered in KnowBe4 Terms of Service, seats and renewal.

The price page lists MSRP per seat per month for a 3-year term in eight currencies (USD, AUD, BRL, CAD, EUR, SGD, GBP and ZAR). It notes that list pricing “may be modified at any time and may vary by region”.[1] USD bands as of May 2026:

Compliance Plus is a ModStore add-on for current KSAT customers. KnowBe4 requires the number of Compliance Plus seats to equal the number of KSAT seats, including seats added during the subscription term. Additional minimum purchase requirements may apply.[5] A customer cannot buy compliance training for only its HR-regulated population while keeping a larger KSAT seat count. The recommended way to limit who takes the training is to target campaigns at a group.[5] Catalog proof: Compliance Plus seats must equal KSAT seats.
KnowBe4 Student Edition is curated training for academic institutions, aimed at students aged 16 and over.[6] It is an add-on at $0.17 per seat per month.[1] See KnowBe4 Student Edition add-on (101-500 seats).
Real-Time Coaching sends users a SecurityTip in the channel they already use when risky behaviour is detected. It also contributes to each user’s Risk Score.[7] The price page headline states that SAT “Now includes Real-time Coaching”. Coaching driven by third-party security alerts is limited to five integrations in Advanced, and the Third-Party Integrations add-on removes that limit.[1] Under the legacy levels, the equivalent capability was the SecurityCoach add-on. SecurityCoach was available only with Platinum and Diamond, with a minimum of 101 seats.[2] Catalog proof: Legacy SecurityCoach add-on required Platinum or Diamond and 101 seats.
Multi-tenant consoles
Multi-tenant support lets a customer manage subsidiaries or groups as separate SAT accounts. The price page says additional fees apply for each additional tenant.[1] A group that splits its seats across several tenants may therefore pay more than the seat count alone suggests. Catalog proof: Each additional SAT tenant is charged separately.
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable: SAT is a hosted service licensed per person. The Terms contain no device or processor metric.[9]
Cloud / BYOL
SAT runs in KnowBe4’s hosted service. Customers may also deliver KnowBe4 content through their own or a third-party learning management system. The Advanced and Foundation levels include multilingual SCORM packages that stream content from KnowBe4.[1] Under the Terms, a third-party LMS must protect the content to substantially the same level, and all Training Content must be removed from it when the term ends.[9] A FedRAMP Moderate environment covers the KSAT LMS and all included training content (ModStore and Compliance Plus), simulated phishing, Real-Time Coaching and AIDA, but not AIDA Deepfakes. It is charged separately from renewal and applies to all licences in the account.[8]
Programs
SAT is sold direct and through Channel Partners, which the Terms define as authorized resellers, distributors and managed service providers.[9] MSPs can also hold a bulk licence of seats shared across the accounts they manage; see MSP bulk subscription and the partner section of KnowBe4 Terms of Service, seats and renewal. Trials run as a Limited Access Account.
