Egnyte Platform plans and pricing

This article is about the Egnyte Platform plans (Team, Business, Enterprise Lite, Elite, Ultimate and the older names that Help Desk articles still use), their public prices and plan-level limits. It is not about individual add-ons, which have their own article.

On This Page

The Egnyte Platform plans are the base subscriptions through which Egnyte sells its hosted content services. Everything else, from add-ons to industry packages, is priced on top of one of them. The pricing page presents four plans for organisations, Business, Enterprise Lite, Elite and Ultimate, under the heading that AI is included in every plan, and a separate page presents Team for smaller groups.[1][2]

Editions

Team

The Team plan is for 1 to 10 users and is priced at $10 per user per month, paid annually.[2] The Team page lists a Standard support plan as included, a 100GB upload limit and one account domain.[2] Help Desk articles add that Team customers are subject to shared-link download quotas of 5GB per hour or 30GB per month.[3] The Public API is not available to Team customers.[4] Because of the 10-user ceiling, a growing company has to move to Business or above rather than add users indefinitely.

Business

Business is priced at $22 per user per month, paid annually.[1] Its plan card lists single-document AI Q&A, secure collaboration, discretionary permissions, Google Workspace integration and Microsoft 365 co-editing, online and desktop.[1] In the platform comparison, Business shows a 100GB upload limit, one account domain and a maximum number of users shown as 100.[1] The Help Desk says Office and Business plans have a default online storage limit of 5TB and 10TB respectively.[5]

Enterprise Lite

Enterprise Lite is $39 per user per month, paid annually.[1] It includes everything in Business plus artifact-based ransomware detection, suspicious login detection, content lifecycle management and advanced workflows.[1] The comparison shows a 150GB upload limit, one primary and five secondary account domains, and no stated cap on users.[1] Multiple Entity Management is available on this plan and above.[6]

Elite

Elite, labelled most popular on the page, is $48 per user per month, paid annually. It adds the AI Assistant, AI Search and AI Workflows, PDF markup, e-signature, dynamic watermarking and auto-remediation to Enterprise Lite.[1] A note on e-signature and PDF markup: the pricing page lists them on the Elite card, while Help Desk articles describe Egnyte Sign as available as part of the PDF File Handler add-on, and the pricing page’s add-on list shows Egnyte Sign as included in PDF Annotator.[7][1] A licence manager should read the Order Form to see whether these features arrive with the plan or as a separate line.

Ultimate

Ultimate has no list price; the page invites a custom quote.[1] It includes everything in Elite plus document type classification, sensitive data classification, ransomware detection with snapshot recovery, DLP and preventive control integration, and bulk metadata extraction.[1] Customer-managed encryption keys are available on Ultimate only, while Egnyte-managed keys are available on all plans.[1] The 120-day extended snapshot coverage is also an Ultimate entitlement.[8]

Enterprise and older names

Help Desk pages continue to refer to a Platform Enterprise plan with a 150GB file size limit, to Essentials, and to legacy Connect, Office and Team plans.[3][4] Partner-exclusive plans such as Cloud File Server and Advanced File System are also named, with shared-link quotas of 5GB per hour and 30GB or 60GB per month respectively.[3] Enterprise plans are provisioned with storage allocations “as specified in customer contracts”, so for those customers the contract, not a public page, is the entitlement.[5] The Help Desk itself tells customers to contact their account manager or the sales team to learn about the newest plans.[3]

Metrics

Per-plan limits that behave like licence metrics are collected below.

Limit Team Business Enterprise Lite Enterprise
Maximum file size 100GB 100GB 150GB 150GB[3]
Public API default Not available 2 calls/s, 1,000/day, 30,000/month; maximum 1,000/day and 30,000/month Same default; maximum 2,000/day and 60,000/month Same default; maximum 4,000/day and 120,000/month (paired with Ultimate)[4]
Account domains 1 1 1 primary, 5 secondary Not stated

The Team and Business figures for domains come from the plan pages.[2][1] The Maximum file size metric also applies to the Specialized File Handler add-on, which raises the limit to 250GB.[9] The default API limits can be raised up to the stated maximum by contacting Egnyte.[4] The Enterprise Lite, Elite and Ultimate platform columns on the pricing page show the same 150GB upload limit and domain allowance.[1]

Other limits that differ by account type include a 10,000-file and 10GB cap on zipped multi-file downloads, 50,000 files or sub-folders per folder, and upload links limited to 500 files per session and 25GB per file or the plan limit if smaller.[3]

Counting / floors

The plan sets a floor and a ceiling in different ways. Team is capped at 10 users. Business shows a ceiling of 100 users in the comparison table, which is described as the maximum number of Power Users defined in the system.[1] Included users are the number of employee licences that come with the plan by default, and additional users are extra licences bought beyond that, managed by administrators on the Current Plan page; if the page does not let an administrator add users, the domain may lack self-service user management or may have reached the plan’s user limit.[10] The Terms of Service add that expanding consumption sets a new high-water mark for the remainder of the Subscription Term.[11]

Virtualization & partitioning

There is no virtualisation rule, but domains partition a customer’s estate. The pricing page shows one domain on Business and one primary plus five secondary domains on the three higher plans.[1] Archive and GxP domains are separate domain types with their own terms, and are excluded from Multiple Entity Management user access.[12]

Cloud / BYOL

All plans are hosted. The data residency row on the pricing page describes allocating storage from other sources such as Azure, AWS and GCP to meet residency requirements, and a public cloud connector that synchronises files between Egnyte and public clouds.[1] The Help Desk adds that if all data residency options are disabled in the dashboard, the plan must be upgraded to customise the storage bucket.[13]

Programs

Multi-year discount. The pricing page states a multi-year discount is available on all plans, without publishing its size.[1]

Trials. A trial account runs for 15 days and is cancelled automatically at the end if the customer does not buy.[10] Trial users are limited to 1GB of FTP upload and 20GB of total storage, restrictions lifted on subscription.[3] Admins can also use Settings, Subscription, Explore Plans to trial a higher-tier plan on their current domain. The trial is available to all users in the domain and runs for 14 days on the page and for 15 days by default in the Help Desk note. A domain cannot have two plan trials at once, cannot trial the same plan twice, and Enterprise, Ultimate and regulated Government and GxP plans require sales engagement. Domains using Multiple Entity Management are not eligible for self-serve plan trials.[14]

Support. The pricing page states that a support plan is included with every plan, shown as Standard on the platform rows.[1] Premium and Platinum are described in the terms and renewal article.[15]

Out of scope

Prices for GxP, Government, Document Room, eTMF and similar plans are not published and are handled by a specialist.[1] Currency, tax and reseller pricing are not covered here; fees are exclusive of taxes under the Terms of Service.[11]
