Egnyte add-ons are optional capabilities bought in addition to a platform plan. The pricing page presents them in groups for architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), financial services, life sciences and a general group, with a per-user monthly price for some and a “Chat with Specialist” prompt for others.[1] This article lists what each add-on contains and the licensing conditions that apply, then covers the AI features and the regulated-industry terms.

AEC: Project Hub and Specialized File Handler
Project Hub, formerly the Project Control add-on, is “optional and can be purchased for an additional fee on top of a platform plan”.[2] It bundles features such as the Autodesk Forma integration, the advanced Procore integration, project templates, Project Center, team management, lifecycle management, image similarity, a Specifications Analyst and the Deltek Vantagepoint integration. Some features are also in some base platform plans, and the Deltek integration is available on all plans with Project Hub except Platform Business or AFS plans.[2]
The Specialized File Handler add-on, also optional and at an additional fee, covers Adaptive Block Caching, advanced BIM file search, BIM file preview on web and mobile, 360 image support, geolocation search and a maximum file size of 250GB.[3] The file-size lift matters for counting limits: the plan limit is 100GB or 150GB without it.[4]
Financial services: Document Portal and Compliance Center
The Document Portal add-on is optional and can be bought on top of a platform plan. It includes the Document Portal application, to request, collect, process and share files with external parties, and Upload Requests Workflows.[5] Standard Users created through Document Portal cannot log into the mobile app.[6] Compliance Center is available on Financial Services Elite and Ultimate plans, and its AI capabilities, including the Compliance Agent, AI Assessment and Assessment Reports, are available to domains with the AI Add-on enabled.[7]
PDF File Handler and Egnyte Sign
The PDF File Handler add-on combines PDF editing and annotation with a legally binding e-signature tool. It is optional and can be bought for an additional fee on top of a platform plan, and its contents include PDF viewing and editing, a mobile page editor, Egnyte Sign, document comparison and document conversion.[8] The Help Desk states that the PDF File Handler is an additional add-on available on all Platform Plans.[8] Egnyte Sign is available as part of the add-on, and by default any Administrator or Power User can send signature requests while Standard Users cannot.[9] The pricing page’s Elite card also lists PDF markup and e-signature, so the entitlement route should be confirmed on the Order Form.[1]
Metrics
Add-ons are priced as a per-user add-on unless stated otherwise. The pricing page does not say whether an add-on must be bought for every user or only for those who use it, so the quantity is an Order Form matter. What the Terms of Service do say is that expanding consumption, including additional features and functionality, is paid for the rest of the Subscription Term and sets a new high-water mark.[10] A customer that adds add-on seats mid-term should expect the higher quantity to carry forward.

Snapshot and Recovery
Snapshot-based ransomware recovery lets administrators mount a snapshot of the domain’s data and restore it. Snapshots are taken every 6 hours for the first two days, every 12 hours for days 3 to 9, daily for days 10 to 30, and then once every 10 days, to a depth of 50 days for basic coverage or 120 days for extended coverage.[11] The 50-day basic coverage is included with the Platform Enterprise plan and the GxP with Governance plan, and available as an add-on for Platform Business and Enterprise Lite. The 120-day extended coverage is for customers with the Ultimate plan.[11] Egnyte states that the 50-day window cannot be extended on other plans.[12] The pricing page lists the add-on at $10 per user per month and the feature comparison names a 30-day and a 90-day variant, while Help Desk articles name 50-day and 120-day coverage, so the coverage period on the Order Form should be checked.[1]
Self-serve add-on trials
Customers can start a 14-day free trial of five add-ons, namely the AI Add-On, Specialized File Handler, PDF File Handler, Project Hub and Document Portal, from Settings, Subscription, Trial Add-Ons when they are optional on the plan. The add-on is enabled for all users on the domain as soon as the trial starts, trials expire automatically after 14 days unless purchased or extended, and Plan Details has been renamed Current Plan.[13] Because the trial covers every user on the domain, usage during the trial is not limited to named trial users. A domain cannot trial a plan if it is already trialling an add-on.[14]
Virtualization & partitioning
Regulated plans partition content into separate domains. GxP plans include a validated domain that can hold regulated data and a separate test domain at no extra cost with 25GB, up to 5 Power Users and 5 Standard Users.[15] Audit log retention for the GxP and test domains can be extended on request from 90 days to up to 10 years, with audit reports of up to 366 days of data.[15] Multiple Entity Management user access excludes GxP domains.[15]
Cloud / BYOL
For AI, Egnyte offers bring-your-own-model. Customers with Platform Plans and the AI add-on can request the feature, which is in limited availability, and connect a model from OpenAI or Anthropic using their own API key.[16] The Help Desk states that data handling for a customer’s own model is governed by the model provider’s terms.[16] The Generative AI Policy adds that any such solution is used at the customer’s sole risk and that Egnyte makes no commitment to host or support third-party solutions for the term.[17]
Programs
AI
The pricing page says AI is included in every plan.[1] Its comparison separates single-document and image Q&A from the multi-document AI Assistant, AI Search and AI Workflows.[1] AI limits are published in release notes. The supported file size for the AI Assistant increased from 20MB to 64MB for several file categories,[18] and users can now select up to 20 sources, up from 10, and tag up to 20 files with @filename.[19] Under the Generative AI Policy, a customer’s administrator can configure Egnyte Generative AI, but the customer may not opt out of its use in its entirety, and it remains responsible for human review of output.[17] The Product-Specific Special Terms point to the same policy and say Egnyte may limit token consumption under plan limits.[15]
Governance and Government
Governance pricing includes the right to use the Content Classification and Access Control modules.[15] For Egnyte for Government, the customer is responsible for configuring its domain for its own compliance and business requirements, including CMMC certification.[15] The pricing page lists a CMMC 2.0 Compliance add-on to protect controlled unclassified information, and the Help Desk says regulated Government and GxP plans require sales engagement and are not eligible for self-serve plan trials.[1][14]
GxP validation services
GxP plans come with access to the GxP Portal with validation documentation, risk-assessed release notes and daily performance test results. The GxP Platform, but not the modular plans, includes one remote review of Egnyte’s GxP-related standard operating procedures per annual term on request. Validation as a Service packages for user acceptance testing, from generic templates to fully executed UAT, are sold as selected packages or under a Statement of Work.[15]
Out of scope
Prices for GxP, Government and Document Room are not public. The Egnyte app store and third-party integrations are outside this article; the Terms of Service say Egnyte is not responsible for third-party content and may act as a limited billing agent for app store purchases.[10]
