DATEV sells its firm software mainly to members of the cooperative. This article covers what a firm licenses, how the packages are tiered, how a firm may extend use to its clients, and how membership ties into the contract. The price list for firms is dated 10/2025 and all prices are in euros excluding VAT.[1]
Editions
Kanzlei-Rechnungswesen is the core accounting program for firms. In the price list it carries the licence types of the whole portfolio: EUR 153.96 per month for the first Netzlizenz or Benutzerlizenz Einzelanwendung, EUR 25.52 for each further one, and a Benutzerlizenz Set tier price that starts at EUR 98.50 for one user and EUR 125.36 for two, with EUR 4.40 added per user above 40. The price table lists the Grundpaket Basis as a prerequisite; DATEV Controllingreport and DATEV Zahlungsverkehr are included in the program.[1]
Basis-Angebot is described as the software for the standard tasks of a tax firm: taxes, accounting and annual accounts, and payroll. It is sold as Betriebsstättenlizenz or Benutzerlizenz Set in tiers from EUR 241.00 per month for one PC or user to EUR 694.10 for eight.[1][2] The shop page shows a starting price of EUR 247.00 per month on the day retrieved.[2] Optional add-on modules are priced per tier, for example LODAS comfort from EUR 10.56, Eigenorganisation comfort from EUR 82.00 and Bilanzbericht comfort from EUR 60.89.[1] The package price is lower than the sum of the single programs up to the eighth PC, and DATEV cloud services are not included: the IT-Service- und Sicherheitspauschale per client, the payroll Abrechnungsgrundpreis per employee and the DATEVnet volume are billed by use.[1]
Mehrwert-Angebot covers most of the firm programs. The price list shows EUR 440.75 per month for one user, EUR 3,345.60 for 40 users and EUR 66.65 for each user above 40; the shop page shows a starting price of EUR 451.50 per month.[1][3] Compared with the Basis-Angebot, the product comparison on the shop page shows as additionally included, among others, E-Rechnungsschreibung, Abschlussüberwachung, Kostenrechnung classic, Agrar-Abschluss nach BMEL, LOVOR, Personal-Benchmark online, Personal-Managementsystem classic, Erbschaft- und Schenkungsteuer comfort, ProCheck and several Wirtschaftsberatung programs, DATEVnet, Telefonie Basis and the Kommunikationsserver.[2][3] Some included products are not delivered automatically and must be ordered explicitly because of prerequisites; the shop page names Abschlussprüfung compact, Eigenorganisation classic and Eigenorganisation Unternehmensstrukturen, and states that registration for the E-Rechnungsplattform is not covered automatically.[3]
Other firm programs are priced in the same type structure. DMS costs EUR 39.98 per month for one licence and EUR 66.63 for two, and MyDATEV Kanzlei had a price of EUR 20.00 for the first Einzelanwendung and EUR 9.50 for each further one in the period 2025-07-01 to 2025-12-31.[1]
Metrics
The firm programs use the user-based and location-based types described in DATEV licence types: Benutzerlizenz Set, Benutzerlizenz Einzelanwendung, Betriebsstättenlizenz and Netzlizenz. The Mehrwert-Angebot has a special rule: the tier basis is the total of the PC-Zähler of all locations of a membership used by the firm, or on conversion the Benutzer-Zähler.[1] Cloud services for firms use further units. Mandant (Mand/Mon.) applies to Belege online (EUR 3.74 per client file and month in the 10/2025 list), Belegfreigabe online (EUR 7.17) and Belegfreigabe online comfort (EUR 25.00), and the IT-Service- und Sicherheitspauschale is EUR 2.05 per client and month.[1] Buchungsvorschlag is the unit of the automation services: EUR 0.03 per booking proposal from bank transactions and EUR 0.051 per proposal from invoices, charged to the firm.[1]
Counting / floors
Quantity tiers. Package and program prices are tiered by quantity starting at 1, and above the tabulated range a fixed amount is added per further licence. The tier tables start at quantity 1.[1]
Billing basis. A Benutzerlizenz Set is billed on the highest Benutzer-Zähler of the month and a Betriebsstättenlizenz on the PC-Zähler, with a change reaching the invoice in the following month; see the licence-types article.[1]
Client connection. Mandantenanbindung grants the right to provide the firm’s DATEV program licences to a connected client company. The firm list shows EUR 22.14 per month for the first workplace or user of a client and EUR 12.20 for each further one; the company list (08/2026) shows EUR 22.68 and EUR 12.50.[1][7] The footnote says licence sharing, in which several client companies share one program licence, is allowed. If more program licences are needed, the PC-Zähler or the Benutzerlizenz Set can be raised, or additional licences can be provided as further Netzlizenz or Benutzerlizenz Einzelanwendung at their prices.[7]
Virtualization & partitioning
The retrieved documents give no virtualization rule for firm programs. Firms may use DATEV’s hosting platforms, covered in payroll and hosting; the Basis-Angebot and Mehrwert-Angebot are also available through DATEV cloud sourcing, according to the shop pages.[2][3]
Cloud / BYOL
A firm that sends client files to DATEV’s data centre incurs per-client-file services regardless of the program package. The footnote on Belege online states that pricing starts when the client file is created, independent of document receipt.[1] A firm that wants a client to see applications in Unternehmen online or send documents must order Unternehmen online for that client, which is free for firms, and the client needs an access medium.[7] When a client’s Unternehmen online contract ends and the file is inactive, a one-off flat fee of EUR 350.00 keeps the file stored in the data centre, provided a DATEV eG membership exists for the storage period and without a pro-rata refund if the membership ends early.[1]
Programs
DATEV eG membership. The page on joining states that persons and companies named in Section 3 of the Satzung can become members: tax advisors, tax agents (Steuerbevollmächtigte), auditors, sworn auditors, lawyers, established European lawyers and companies admitted under the professional law of these professions, plus persons and companies established outside Germany whose profession is equivalent to the German professions authorised for unlimited tax advice. On joining, the member subscribes three shares of EUR 255.00 (EUR 765.00 in total). Application documents differ for individuals, companies and unregistered civil-law partnerships; companies attach a register extract.[4] The Satzung overview describes the cooperative purpose, the members as shareholders, who exercise their rights through elected representatives, and the governing bodies.[5] Under the Geschäftsbedingungen the use right of a member ends with the membership without a separate notice.[6]
Kooperationsmodell für Kanzleiverbünde und Kanzleigruppen. Associations and groups of firms can use the Mehrwert-Angebot under a cooperation model, only with DATEV’s prior consent and if criteria show a close, lasting and strategic combination. The list shows a base price of EUR 500.00 per cooperation and EUR 100.00 per member per month, plus EUR 88.65 per licence for licences 1 to 10, EUR 77.40 for 11 to 200 and EUR 66.65 from the 201st; the sum of licences is used.[1]
Mitgliedsübergreifende Nutzung des Mehrwert-Angebots. Use of the Mehrwert-Angebot across several memberships is possible only after DATEV’s prior consent; majority participation is among the requirements.[1]
Leistungsverbund and client connection. Members may open product use in client companies when they do so within their mandate by passing it on, and they must point clients to DATEV’s copyrights. A client may use the products only for its own company, and use in affiliates needs consent. A client contract with DATEV presupposes a mandate with a member and the member’s consent, and ends one year after the mandate ends or consent is withdrawn.[6]
Audits and compliance
Members state the intended scope of use before using a product and report changes that affect licensing.[6] The use limits and the ban on passing services to third parties carry a contractual penalty of EUR 10,000 per culpable breach.[6] For firms, the practical points are the client connection (licence rules set by DATEV in the individual case), the group models (consent required) and the consequence of ending the membership.

Content databases sold through DATEV (for example LEXinform and juris), seminars and consulting, DATEV Anwalt products for law firms and the full catalog of tax programs per client are outside this article. The Satzung text itself, which carries the membership rights and duties, was not retrieved; only its overview page was.
