TechSmith volume, site and education licensing covers the ways organizations buy Snagit and Camtasia beyond a single individual subscription. TechSmith recommends the key-based Business License Subscription to anyone who needs a transferable licence, is buying for someone else or for more than one user, or needs offline activation.[1] Larger organizations can take an Enterprise plan, a site licence priced as a flat annual fee that covers every user.[2] Both are Enterprise Subscriptions under the subscription EULA. In that EULA an Order, such as a quotation or site licence addendum, may set the number of Authorized Users and the term.[3]

Camtasia Business includes Camtasia Editor and Camtasia Snagit.[4] Snagit was added to Camtasia Business License Subscriptions from 2026-06-01.[5] TechSmith’s licensing grid lists these flexible licensing options for the Enterprise tier: “per-user, sitewide, capped site, true up”. Both Business and Enterprise offer flexible billing, including invoicing, multi-year agreements, choice of payment method, and automatic or manual renewal.[2] Custom legal terms, described as negotiated contracts or EULA redlining, are available on Business and Enterprise but not on Individual licences.[1]

Metrics
Business licences are counted per Enterprise Subscription seat (Business License): one activated device for each Authorized User seat purchased.[3] Site licences are counted per Site license (organization or site). A site licence can cover “a single location, a specific team, or your entire organization”.[6]
Counting / floors
Volume discounts. TechSmith offers volume discounts for Camtasia, Snagit, Camtasia Audiate, Assets for Camtasia, Assets for Snagit and Screencast, starting at 10 subscriptions.[6] The store FAQ adds that the discount grows with quantity and is not available for individual subscription licences.[7] The Snagit product page FAQ gives a different threshold of 5 licences.[8] Multi-year discounts cannot be bought online.[6] Catalog proof: Volume discounts start at 10 subscriptions; Online Business purchases are limited to 99 users.
Site licence headcount. A site licence gives unlimited access to all current employees, with up to 10% headcount growth included, and locks pricing for three years with annual or full payment options.[6] Organizations, departments or teams of about 100 employees or more are typically eligible. TechSmith states that site licensing can also suit teams of 50 or more.[9] The initial term is three years, followed by one-year or multi-year renewal options.[10] Site licensing removes the need to track seat allocation.[11][12] Catalog proof: Site licence covers all current employees plus 10% growth; Site licence initial term is three years; Site licences are typically for about 100 or more employees.
Seat tracking. Volume licences are delivered as one multi-user key.[13] TechSmith offers no portal to view or audit Snagit and Camtasia seats, so the deployer must track users. Seat management with named assignments exists only for Camtasia Assets, Snagit Assets, Audiate and Screencast Pro.[11] In a Business License, an organization that runs out of activations must either uninstall on a machine or buy more licences.[14]
Adding seats. Online Business License buyers can add seats through the TechSmith portal by credit card. The comparison grid states that proration applies to seats added this way.[2] On the partner price list, seat extensions for Snagit and Camtasia cost the same whatever time remains in the term. Extensions for Camtasia Audiate, Camtasia Assets and Snagit Assets are pro-rated monthly and need a quote.[15] Catalog proof: Snagit and Camtasia seat extensions are not pro-rated.

For new Business Licenses, the New part number is used for seat extensions with 11 to 18 months remaining, the Extension part number with less than 11 months, and the 3-year Extension part number with 18 or more months remaining. Virtualization & partitioning
Volume and site agreements follow the EULA’s rules for server and virtual use. On an Internal Network the licensed quantity is the total number of Authorized Users, not the number of concurrent users, and on Citrix, RDS or streamed-application deployments each user with access needs a subscription.[3][17] For Enterprise deployments, TechSmith publishes guides for Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, App-V sequencing and Intune.[18] The details are in TechSmith Snagit and Camtasia subscription EULA.
Cloud / BYOL
TechSmith publishes no cloud or bring-your-own-licence terms for volume or site licences. Key-based licences need no end-user accounts, and TechSmith does not offer single sign-on or SCIM for Camtasia Editor, Snagit or Audiate, although both are on its roadmap.[19]
Programs
Education
The education discount applies to Snagit Business and Camtasia Business. It is open to full-time students, staff and faculty of K-12 and higher education institutions who will use the software for educational purposes.[20] Licences may be used only for teaching, learning and administrative computing, and an institution may not use them for any commercial purpose. Trainers outside a school, college or university do not qualify.[20] Students and recent graduates in the US, UK and Canada can buy individual Snagit and Camtasia subscriptions through Student Beans. Government and non-profit
Government and non-profit discounts applied to maintenance agreements continued after the 2025 transition.[12] New Business License purchases carry no government or non-profit discount.[16] The EULA makes special provision for United States government licensees on governing law and restricted rights.[3]
Multi-year agreements
TechSmith recommends 3-year agreements or site licences to customers who want stable costs. These avoid annual price increases for 36 months and remove the yearly procurement cycle.[21] Catalog row: Multi-year agreements (3-year).
Purchasing channels
TechSmith accepts purchase orders, which must be in US dollars on net 30 day terms and list TechSmith as the vendor.[22] A subscription can be moved between credit card and purchase order payment.[7] Customers who buy through TechSmith’s sales team or a reseller can use purchase orders to avoid automatic renewal on a credit card.[12] TechSmith sells through a global network of authorized resellers, and reseller pricing may vary.[23] For channel orders of subscription products, the buyer must give the email address of the person who will manage the licences. This subscription manager cannot be changed later.[24]
Refunds and cancellation
Snagit and Camtasia Editor licences bought directly from TechSmith can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, and the software must be uninstalled. Purchases made through resellers are returned through the reseller.[25] A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the billing period and can be un-cancelled before it deactivates.[26] Catalog proof: Refunds within 14 days of purchase.
