This article covers three smaller Qualtrics product families whose units differ from the survey-oriented Response and employee-oriented Employees metrics: market research, Edge Cloud and Experience Agents.
XM for Market Research
The XM for Market Research Suite includes Strategic Brand and Strategic Research.[1]
Strategic Brand lets the customer analyze individuals on their experiences for a brand study. Its Interaction is a Response or a Social Mention, and the terms state that it is only available with the purchase of the XM for Market Research Suite.[1] A Social Mention is a social media post pertaining to or posted by a tracked brand, account or social media user, or a single comment or reply to such a post, including items that fit a keyword or hashtag search or tag a tracked account.[1] See Strategic Brand.
Strategic Research lets the customer analyze individuals on their experiences for a market research project, and its Interaction is a Response.[1] See Strategic Research. A Response in both services follows the common definition: a completed or partially completed survey response collected into the Cloud Service, excluding partials the customer chooses not to record and pre-existing survey responses imported in the first six months of the first period, with each minute of video feedback adding a Response.[1]
The market research terms also contain the XM Discover functionality block: an Annual Loading Limit, a Monthly Loading Limit of one sixth of it, an Access Limit that spans the Subscription Term and excludes Responses, a default Concurrent User Limit of 10,000 users, a historical-data allowance in the first six months and an Export API limited to one full export a month.[1] These match the customer experience terms; see the customer experience article for the mechanics.
Edge Audiences
Edge Audiences gives the customer access to a set of potential respondents from whom it can collect Human Panel Responses or Synthetic Panel Responses, subject to availability of the target audience.[2] A Human Panel Response is a completed or partially completed survey response, excluding partials the customer chooses not to record, responses deleted in the data scrub process and Non-Human Panel Responses.[2] A Non-Human Panel Response, also called a Synthetic Panel Response, is a survey response generated by algorithmic means, and Qualtrics provides functionality to identify them.[2]
Credit consumption
The unit is the Credit. Credits are consumed according to tables in the terms unless the Order Form sets different amounts.[2] Consumption depends on the tier, which is set by the incidence rate (IR) and the maximum length of interview (LOI), on whether the sample is business-to-consumer (B2C) or business-to-business (B2B), on the country type and on whether the response is human or non-human.[2]
| Table | Human Panel Response, lowest to highest tier | Non-Human (twin data) |
|---|---|---|
| B2C, Type 1 and 2 countries | 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 Credits (tiers A1 to D1; IR 100% to 5%; LOI 15 to 25 minutes) | 0.5, 0.75, 1 and 1.5 Credits |
| B2B, Type 1 and 2 countries | 5, 7, 8 and 10 Credits (tiers A2 to D2; IR 100% to 20%) | 2.5, 3.5, 4 and 5 Credits |
| B2C, Type 3 countries | 3, 4, 5 and 8 Credits (tiers A3 to D3) | not listed |
| Platform UX | 3 to 10 Credits depending on B2C or B2B and whether the survey has a video-feedback or unmoderated user-testing question | not listed |
| Medical | 11, 12 and 13 Credits for generalists, specialist allied health professionals and specialists | not listed |
All amounts above are from the Edge Cloud Product Terms.[2] Credit consumption covers participant recruitment only and does not include incentive payout or management.[2] Type 1 countries are the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Canada; Type 2 countries include Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands and China; Type 3 countries include New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, South Africa and Switzerland.[2] Rates for countries outside the tables are subject to Qualtrics review and approval.[2]
Caps, expiry and linked consumption
The additional terms impose several limits.[2] The customer may not use more than 70% of available Credits in the first six months of each twelve-month subscription period; if usage exceeds that, it must execute an Order Form for additional Credits within 30 days of Qualtrics’ request, failing which Qualtrics may limit use until the six months have elapsed.[2] The customer may not use more than 90% of Credits on Human Panel Responses, and need not use any on Non-Human Panel Responses.[2] Available Credits expire at the end of each contract year.[2] Each Human or Non-Human Panel Response also consumes an Interaction under the customer’s Interaction-based Cloud Service subscription, so a panel project counts against two budgets.[2] Customers may not collect personal information of respondents other than images in connection with the video-feedback question type.[2] Where Qualtrics’ project management team manages a Human Panel Response project, minimum Credit use per project applies, at USD 3,000, 2,500 or 2,000 worth of Credits depending on whether the annual subscription is up to USD 25,000, between 25,000 and 100,000, or above 100,000.[2] The Edge Audiences credit caps program row records these.
Edge Instant Insights
Edge Instant Insights gives access to curated datasets and corresponding reporting views hosted in the Cloud Service.[2] Access does not transfer ownership, the Datasets are provided as is without warranty of completeness or accuracy, features that depend on third-party sources may be withdrawn without prior notice, and the customer may not sublicense or resell any Dataset or make it available to a third party.[2] The Product Terms give no numeric Usage Metric for this service; the volume is set by the Order Form.
Experience Agents
The Experience Agents terms, dated 2 April 2026, define the Agent Engagement as any time an Agent commences its first autonomous action, including automated processes, decision-making functions or data interactions triggered by the Agent after authorization by a user or system activation.[3] An Agent is a Digital Agent (a chatbot embedded on the customer’s webpage by site intercept, which may appear conditionally or be always on), a Survey Agent (surfacing in a survey when predefined signals trigger) or a Ticket Agent (integrated in the Cloud Service to perform support tasks for someone working a ticket).[3] Agents are defined, configured and deployed in Agent Studio.[3]
The customer may build and test with up to 500 Agent Engagements per calendar month within Agent Studio, and these do not count toward purchased volumes.[3] Inputs and Outputs are Customer Data and the customer is responsible for all Inputs and Actions; the customer acknowledges that Outputs may be inaccurate and that Actions may contain errors, and agrees not to rely on them without independent verification.[3] See Experience Agents.
Counting guidance
- Edge: record Credits by tier and country type, because the same Response consumes different Credits.[2]
- Record the first-six-months share and the human-panel share of Credit use against the 70% and 90% caps.[2]
- Add panel Responses to Interaction totals for any linked subscription.[2]
- Experience Agents: separate production Agent Engagements from build-and-test ones in Agent Studio when comparing with purchased volumes.[3]
Out of scope
Prices per Credit, third-party panel providers, incentive payouts and the full list of medical specialists are not covered; the cited documents state that the value of Credits is based on the price in the Order Form.[2]
