Grammarly is an AI writing assistant published by Superhuman Platform Inc., which the Terms of Service describe as “formerly known as Grammarly, Inc.”[2] Grammarly now sits inside the Superhuman suite alongside Superhuman Go, Coda and Superhuman Mail, a relationship that the Support Center notes on its pricing and plan articles.[4] The product is licensed as a hosted subscription. Individual and team plans are bought online under the Terms of Service, while enterprise-tier products are sold by the sales team under the Customer Business Agreement.[2]
Because the company rebranded rather than the product, inventory records may show the publisher as Grammarly, Inc., Grammarly or Superhuman Platform. This wiki files all three under Superhuman Platform.

The Superhuman suite page separately lists Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans that include Grammarly with Docs, Mail and Go. Pro is EUR 12 per member per month billed annually (EUR 15 billed monthly), Business is EUR 33 (EUR 40 monthly), and Enterprise is custom.[9] Seat changes made in a linked Grammarly account apply across the suite.[10]
Published prices
The Pro plan is listed in the Support Center at USD 30 per member per month, USD 60 per member per quarter, and USD 144 per member per year (an average of USD 12 per member per month). The default currency is the US dollar, with regional pricing in euros, pounds and rupees shown at checkout.[4] The pricing page, fetched from a European address, showed EUR 12 for Pro.[1] Enterprise and Education have no public price.
Metrics
- Seat. Pro and team plans are bought for a number of seats, one per paid member, and “Grammarly Pro plans are billed as one payment for all seats”.[5] Pro allows up to 149 seats.[4]
- End User account. Enterprise and Education customers create End User accounts in the numbers and types stated in the Order, each for one individual.[3]
- Generative AI prompt. Free users receive 100 prompts a month, Pro 2,000 per member and Enterprise unlimited.[1]
- Document and word check limit. The Acceptable Use Policy caps documents and words checked in 30-day and 24-hour windows.[11]
Counting and floors
Seat additions are prorated for the remaining subscription period and the next renewal charges the full updated count. Seats cannot be reduced below the number of active members, and reductions take effect in the next billing cycle.[10] The Pro article explains how a person already on a Pro subscription is treated when joining another Pro team: the person’s own subscription is paused, or the person moves to the new team.[5] Enterprise and Education quantities are set by the Order.[3]
Use rights and plan history
The Terms of Service grant a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the Services on a subscription basis and say the Services are not sold; an Entity must use them only for internal business purposes, and credentials are unique to each user.[2] Under the Customer Business Agreement each End User account is designated for one individual, and may be moved when that individual no longer needs access.[3] Individuals who sign up with an employer or school email address fall under that Organization’s control, and an Organization that later buys a subscription may have the individual’s account merged into its own.[2]
The plan names have moved over time. The Support Center records the replacement of Business by Pro, the migration of web-purchased Premium subscriptions to Pro from March 2025, and the Add or remove seats article lists Superhuman Pro and Superhuman Business next to Grammarly Pro, Plus and Business as plans whose seats are managed on the same page.[4][6][10] A software asset record for Grammarly may therefore need to map “Premium”, “Pro”, “Plus”, “Business” and “Superhuman Pro” names to the same product family.
Sales-assisted purchases
Subscriptions bought through the Sales team, including Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education, are managed differently from online purchases: seat and plan changes go through the Customer Success Manager,[10] some features such as the Editor and docs with agents are configurable only on those plans,[13] and the streamlined joining options apply to them.[14] The same product family can thus appear in an organization under several contracts at once: an Enterprise Order, a team Pro subscription started by a department, and individual Free or Premium accounts on corporate email addresses.[2]
Virtualization and cloud
Grammarly is a hosted service with desktop apps, browser extensions and Office add-ins; no processor, hypervisor or bring-your-own-licence rules apply. The Support Center describes a Managed Mode, which needs SSO and an enrollment token and ensures that only users who belong to the organization’s subscription can sign in to the clients.[12]
Programs
- Free trial. The Pro card offers a trial with an email reminder two days before it ends.[1]
- Premium to Pro migration. From March 2025 Grammarly began upgrading Premium subscribers who bought on grammarly.com to Pro at the same price; App Store and Google Play Premium plans are unchanged.[6]
- True-up billing. Admins can invite members above the paid seat count and pay later; see True-up billing.
- Invoices. Business purchases of 10 or more members on an annual plan can request an invoice.[1]
Out of scope
This article does not cover Superhuman Mail, Coda or Go as standalone products, third-party marketplace Enhancements that carry their own terms,[2] or free browser tools offered on grammarly.com outside the subscription plans.
