Pear Deck Learning is the brand under which Liminex, Inc., the company that does business as GoGuardian, sells instruction tools. The Product Terms define the Pear Deck Learning Offerings as Liminex’s suite of products and services provided under that brand, and list Pear Deck Inc. and Snapwiz Inc. among the Liminex Parties.[2] The pricing page covers four products: Pear Start (AI lesson planning), Pear Deck (interactive presentations), Pear Practice (differentiated practice) and Pear Assessment (standards-based assessment).[1] They share the Product Terms with GoGuardian’s other Offerings, so the licence, payment and liability clauses are as described in the product terms article.
What differs is the commercial structure. Unlike the GoGuardian filtering and safety products, Pear Deck Learning publishes a free tier for every teacher, an individual premium price for two products, and a custom plan for schools and districts.[1]

The Pear Deck district plan adds access to a District Library, certified standards-aligned content, efficacy reports and training. Canvas and Schoology LMS integrations are “Included with District subscription; fee applies for School subscription”.[1] The Pear Assessment help centre adds that district and school plans require a custom quote, and that district plans include every premium feature for every teacher.[7]
Metrics
Pear Deck Learning uses four different units depending on the product and how it was bought.
Pear Deck: Group Usage spots and domains
A school-wide Pear Deck Premium subscription has a Group Usage list. A subscription manager adds teachers by their sign-in email, one at a time or in bulk, and the page shows the number of spots claimed. Adding a teacher gives Premium immediately; removing one frees the spot, and the teacher’s account and presentations are not deleted. A subscription spot can be transferred by removing one teacher and adding another.[3] See Pear Deck Premium group spot.
A domain-wide subscription is different: every teacher who signs in with the school’s domain has Premium access automatically, and there is no teacher list to manage.[4] See Pear Deck domain-wide subscription. District-level subscriptions also have an LMS/LTI Integrations tab with the key and secret values needed to connect Canvas or Schoology.[4]
Pear Assessment: Teacher Premium licences
Subscription managers can hold any type of Pear Assessment account. They upgrade teachers to Teacher Premium, switch a licence from one teacher to another by unchecking the first and adding the second, add more subscription managers (who need not hold premium themselves), and buy additional Teacher Premium licences with a credit card.[8] See Pear Assessment Teacher Premium licence.
Pear Practice: email-matched licences
Pear Practice Premium may be a School, District or Individual licence. For district licences, the account email must match the email on the licence, and the subscription manager adds missing accounts.[10] See Pear Practice Premium licence.
Counting / floors
For school and district plans the quote depends on three factors: enrollment size (volume discounts apply), product bundle (Pear Assessment can be bought individually or bundled with Pear Start, Pear Deck and Pear Practice) and contract length (multi-year commitments may qualify for additional pricing benefits).[7] The help centre adds that GoGuardian and Pear Deck Learning products can be bundled together for pricing advantages.[7] No minimum is published, so the Order Form is the only source for the quantity.
Entitlement is tied to identity. Pear Deck Premium is tied to a specific email address, so a teacher who signs in with another Google account sees the Free plan, and a changed work email may leave the old account with Premium and the new one without it.[5] For a licence manager, three counts should agree: the spots or licences on the Order Form, the claimed spots in Group Usage or Teacher Premium lists, and the accounts actually in use.
Virtualization & partitioning
There is no virtualization concept. The only structural limits are those of the plan: a domain-wide plan covers a domain, a school-wide plan covers named spots, and a district plan applies to the district’s accounts.[4] A teacher who is part of a group plan cannot switch to Free independently; the subscription manager must remove them.[6]
Cloud / BYOL
These are cloud services and there is no BYOL. Pear Deck stores a teacher’s account data, including presentations and collected responses, in the Google or Microsoft Office 365 account used to sign in, and the help centre says Pear Deck cannot transfer account data between accounts; teachers move files themselves. Payments for individual Premium can be moved to another account by contacting Pear Deck’s finance address.[6] For schools, Pear Deck can be installed as an add-on for Google Workspace or an add-in for Microsoft 365 at the domain level.[4] Subscriptions can also be purchased through an Authorized Reseller under the Product Terms.[2]
Programs
Free tiers and Pear Start
Teacher Free plans cost USD 0 for Pear Deck, Pear Practice and Pear Assessment, and Pear Start is free for educators, with its premium features included for schools and districts that have purchased Pear Deck, Pear Practice or Pear Assessment.[1]
Pear Practice premium trial
When a Pear Practice premium trial ends, the account reverts to the free tier and there is no charge unless the school or district has purchased a premium subscription. Content and student performance data stay on the free tier, but premium features such as AI-generated questions, additional question types, standards reporting and district reporting are lost. The School Library is available only if the school or district purchases a premium licence and is not included in the trial.[9] See Pear Practice premium trial.
Individual educator pricing
Individual plans carry an educator discount: Pear Deck Teacher Premium at USD 149 per year and Pear Assessment Teacher Premium at USD 125 per year on the pricing page.[1] The Pear Assessment help centre states the same USD 125 for premium features and adds that the individual plan unlocks the Teacher Dashboard, advanced test security and standards-based reporting.[7]
Renewal and exit
District licences renew annually; if one expires and is not renewed, all accounts in the district revert to Free until renewal is processed.[5] A teacher on an individual plan can switch from Premium to Free at any time from the account’s Billing tab, keeping existing presentations but losing premium features such as the Teacher Dashboard and Teacher Feedback.[6] For institutional exit, the Product Terms apply: either party may end the Agreement on 30 days’ written notice, and fees for the Subscription Term remain due.[2]
Out of scope
This article does not cover the student-data privacy treatment of Pear Deck Learning products, the content licensing of certified lessons, or Professional Services pricing. Its prices apply to the individual plans shown on the public pricing page; school and district prices are quotes.[1]
