GoGuardian licensing is the set of terms under which GoGuardian sells software for K-12 schools and districts: web filtering and device policy (GoGuardian Admin), classroom management (GoGuardian Teacher), student safety alerts (GoGuardian Beacon), edtech usage and licence analytics (GoGuardian Discover), and instruction tools under the Pear Deck Learning brand. The contract names the seller as Liminex, Inc. doing business as GoGuardian and Pear Deck Learning, acting for itself and its Affiliates.[1] Its site lists Admin, Teacher, Beacon, Hall Pass, Discover and Pear Deck Learning as products.[2]
Unlike a per-seat price list, GoGuardian licensing is built on an Order Form. The Product Terms define it as the ordering document that identifies the purchased Offerings, any Fees and, for licensed products, the Subscription Term and Licensed Capacity.[1] The public documents therefore explain the rules, not the numbers: most prices are available only by quote.
Editions
The portfolio is sold as separate subscriptions that can be combined.

Metrics
The central unit is Licensed Capacity: the number of licences to an Offering covered by a Subscription during a Subscription Term, which the Product Terms say may be “the number of accounts, authorized devices, installations, or seats” depending on the Offering and the licensing model on the Order Form.[1] The terms do not say which unit applies to which product. See Licensed Capacity.
The deployment unit is the Managed Device or Account: a device or account of a student or user on which the School deploys an Offering.[1] The help centre says that, for any GoGuardian product to work, both the GoGuardian and GoGuardian License extensions must be installed for each student.[6] Pricing, however, starts from enrollment: the pricing page says GoGuardian customizes prices using enrollment, bundles, contract length and professional services, and offers volume discounts based on school or district size.[2]
Individual products add their own units. GoGuardian Teacher licences are held by enabled teacher accounts; Beacon is deployed by organizational unit; Pear Deck uses named group spots or a domain.[5][7][11]
Counting / floors
GoGuardian publishes no minimums. Because the Order Form states Licensed Capacity, the way to count is to compare the Order Form against deployment: students or devices with the extensions installed, enabled Teacher users, Beacon deployments, and Pear Deck spots.[1] The Product Terms put the burden on the School: it must keep accurate School Profile Information, which includes the number of devices and the number of students,. If a School deploys licences above its Licensed Capacity without asking for an Order Form first, GoGuardian or the Authorized Reseller will send an Order Form and invoice the Add-Ons used above that capacity; the Add-Ons then roll into the base Subscription.[1] That is an after-the-fact true-up mechanism, even though the document does not use the term. See Add-Ons above Licensed Capacity.
Super Users can review the organization’s enabled products and licensing dates on the Product Licenses tab of Org Management, and renewal and quote requests go to a GoGuardian account representative; Support cannot modify licensing or process renewals.[4]
Virtualization & partitioning
The terms do not mention virtual machines, cores or processors, because the products run as browser extensions, cloud services and apps rather than as server software. The only partitioning concept is organizational: Beacon deployments are built from Organizational Units, and each OU can belong to only one deployment.[7]
Cloud / BYOL
All Offerings are delivered as services with client components, so there is no BYOL. Subscriptions can be bought directly from GoGuardian or one of its Affiliates, or through an Authorized Reseller, and in either case the Product Terms govern use; a reseller cannot offer warranties beyond those in the Product Terms.[1] GoGuardian’s own help pages note that Pear Deck Learning and GoGuardian products can be bundled for pricing advantages.[12]
Programs
- Free, trial and beta Offerings. GoGuardian may offer them at its discretion; they may be discontinued at any time, and a beta participant treats the feature as confidential.[1]
- Beacon Starter is included with a GoGuardian Admin subscription.[7]
- Professional Services (deployment, training, consulting) are valid for one year from the start date and unused services expire without refund.[9]
- Beacon Review Services, in which GoGuardian staff screen the most serious alerts and phone the school.[8]
- Bundles and multi-year pricing, as listed in the pricing factors.[2]
Terms, renewal and exit
The Product Terms run until all Order Forms and Subscription Terms expire. Either party may terminate on 30 days’ written notice or for uncured material breach, but the School stays liable for the fees of the terminated Subscription Term, and fees paid are non-cancelable and non-refundable. Fee increases written into an Order Form take effect only when the current term ends.[1] The help centre contains offboarding procedures by product combination, which show that Admin and Teacher can be discontinued independently.[14] The product terms article covers these clauses in detail.
Audits and compliance
The Product Terms contain no software-audit clause. They do impose compliance duties on the School: representing that it has obtained the consents needed to monitor and record users on Managed Devices or Accounts, keeping its account information accurate, and giving notice to parents before enabling Beacon’s parent notification feature.[1] For third-party application licences, GoGuardian Discover compares licences purchased with licences actually used by school, grade or classroom.[13]
Out of scope
This overview does not cover student data privacy, the Data Processing Addendum for EU, EEA, Swiss and UK schools, accessibility, or competitors’ products. Prices are not reproduced because GoGuardian publishes none for its filtering, classroom and safety products.[2]
