GoGuardian Admin, GoGuardian Teacher and GoGuardian Beacon are the core GoGuardian products for schools. Admin sets filtering policies and reporting across ChromeOS, Windows and macOS devices, and its DNS protection is aimed at BYOD, guest-network and unmanaged devices; Teacher is a classroom management tool; Beacon raises alerts about self-harm and violence.[2] All three are subscriptions under the Product Terms, with price and quantity on an Order Form that the public pages do not show.[1][3] This article explains how each is provisioned, which determines what a licence manager can count. For the master contract see GoGuardian Product Terms and EULA; for the portfolio see GoGuardian licensing.

Metrics
Managed devices and student accounts
Admin, Teacher and Beacon all work through the same client footprint: for any GoGuardian product to work, both the GoGuardian and GoGuardian License extensions must be installed for each student, which administrators normally force-install through Google Admin Console.[7] The Product Terms call these deployment targets Managed Devices or Accounts, and make the School responsible for their accuracy and for obtaining the monitoring consents the law requires.[1] Whether a quote is based on devices, student accounts or enrollment is not stated publicly; GoGuardian lists enrollment as a pricing factor.[3] See Managed Device or Account.
Teacher accounts
A Super User adds each teacher in Org Management by name and email, sets GoGuardian Teacher to Enabled, and the teacher receives a password-setup email. Bulk addition uses a CSV, and a teacher can be disabled with the Enable User toggle.[5] Class rosters are limited to 115 students, and a classroom session will not start until at least one student is enrolled.[6] See Teacher enabled user.
Beacon deployments
Beacon is configured through deployments, each covering a set of Organizational Units. Each sub-OU must be selected individually, each OU can only be in one deployment, and there is no limit to the number of OUs in a deployment. A deployment is not active until at least one user is added to its Escalation List.[4] Beacon has three account types for staff: Super Counselor, Counselor and View Only, assigned by Super Users.[4] See Beacon deployment.
Counting / floors
No public documents give a floor. The counting method for an audit is therefore to reconcile three views against the Order Form: the products and licensing dates shown to Super Users on the Product Licenses tab, the teachers enabled in Org Management, and the OUs covered by extensions and Beacon deployments.[8][5] The Product Licenses tab shows expiration dates for active licenses and products available for a free trial.[5] If more licences are deployed than the Order Form covers, the Product Terms provide for an Add-On Order Form and invoice for the excess.[1] See Add-Ons above Licensed Capacity.
A practical consequence of the extension model is that one footprint serves several licences. Because the same two extensions carry Admin, Teacher and Beacon, an institution that licenses only some products should confirm which features are switched on. For example, Teacher classroom sessions can be turned off for the whole organization with the Allow Classroom Sessions toggle, and the offboarding guide has separate procedures for discontinuing Admin while keeping Teacher and the reverse.[5][9]
Virtualization & partitioning
Nothing in the terms refers to virtual machines. Partitioning is organizational: filtering policies attach to OUs for At School and At Home modes, and Beacon deployments partition OUs among users.[4][9] The Parent app is a separate case: parental controls apply only during out-of-school hours defined by At Home Mode, and the documentation says there is no guaranteed functionality on personally owned, unmanaged student devices.[13]
Cloud / BYOL
These are cloud services with extensions; there is no BYOL. Admin’s DNS filtering, described for BYOD, guest networks and unmanaged devices, extends enforcement beyond the managed fleet, but the public documents do not say whether it changes the licensed count.[2] Subscriptions may be purchased through an Authorized Reseller, in which case the Order Form and payment terms are with the reseller.[1]
Programs
Beacon Starter and Beacon Review Services
Beacon Starter is included at no additional cost with an Admin subscription; in Starter the Escalation List can hold one user or all users, and the Core or 24/7 levels are arranged through a representative.[4] The Product Terms say that a School using Beacon, or Admin’s Beacon Starter function, represents that it will notify parents and guardians of its adoption of Beacon and educate them about suicide prevention before enabling the Parent Notification feature.[1]
Beacon Review Services are not part of the Beacon Offering. They are supplemental Professional Services requiring an active Beacon subscription: GoGuardian personnel review alerts categorized Active Planning during Active Service Periods the School chooses, and contact the School’s escalation list by email and telephone. Either party can end the Services on 15 days’ written notice.[10] Without such Supplemental Terms the Product Terms say GoGuardian does not review alerts or act on them.[1] See Beacon Review Services.
GoGuardian Discover
Discover reports on application usage and licence cost. Its documentation says reports can show, for each application, how many licences were purchased versus used, by school, grade level or classroom, and licence records have Active, Expiring and Expired statuses; Expiring means within the reminder window the administrator sets.[11][12] Discover covers third-party application licences, not GoGuardian’s own.
Terms and exit
The same Product Terms apply: fees are non-cancelable, the School remains liable for fees for the terminated term, and either party may terminate on 30 days’ notice.[1] The Help Center says renewals, quotes and sales inquiries are handled by account representatives and that Support cannot modify licensing or process renewals.[8] When ending a subscription, the offboarding guide lists what to remove depending on which products continue, including filtering policies, Out of School mode, smart-alert triggers, the Theft Recovery OU and finally the extensions in Google Admin Console. Fleet can continue without the extensions installed.[9]
Parent app
The GoGuardian Parent app is configured by the school’s Super User, who adds guardian accounts, and chooses which data (Top 5 Summary, Teacher Intervention Counts, All Activity, Screen Time) and controls (website filtering, pausing) are available. Teacher Interventions depend on the school’s GoGuardian Teacher subscription.[13] The Parent App Terms grant guardians a limited, non-transferable licence to use one copy on a single device for personal, non-commercial use, and say GoGuardian reserves the right to charge fees for the app in future.[14]
Out of scope
This article does not cover Hall Pass, Fleet, DNS or Director pricing, which the public documents do not give, nor Pear Deck Learning (see GoGuardian Pear Deck Learning licensing). It does not address alerts accuracy, student privacy or the legal duties that alerts may trigger for a school.[1]
