- ONTAP documentation: a licence is a record of one or more software entitlements; from ONTAP 9.10.1 all licences are delivered as an NLF that enables multiple features. ONTAP 8.2 to 9.9.1 used one 28-character key per feature; a 28-character key cannot be installed over an NLF for the same feature. (effective 2026-08-26)
