- For instances launched from license-included Windows and SQL Server AMIs, customers can customize CPU options (fewer cores, or one thread per core) and pay licensing fees based on the number of vCPUs configured. Other instances are charged as with default CPU options. In License Manager, vCPU counts follow the customized core and thread count only when the vCPU Optimization rule is True.
