- MathWorks Software Maintenance Service (SMS) is the annual subscription that provides new releases (twice a year), technical support, online offerings such as MATLAB Online, MATLAB Drive and MATLAB Mobile, and the ability to buy add-on products. A one-year subscription is included with new product licences.
- Commercial rules
- Included in the annual licence fee for Annual licences; the first year is included in the purchase price of Perpetual licences, then renewed yearly. An active subscription is required to buy and install add-on products, transfer products or convert licence options. A Master License gives a single SMS renewal for all its licences. Lapsed perpetual products remain usable at the releases they are licensed through.
