Microsoft 365 active user licence
Catalog row in Vendor License Metrics · Cited
- Unit
- User (Microsoft 365 user with at least one backup initiated)
- Definition
- Active and preserved license consumption rationale: "An active license for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is consumed when the first backup is successfully initiated for any application of that workload."
- Counting rules
- One active licence per user for the workload, however many Microsoft 365 applications are backed up. Druva adds complimentary licences for shared and resource mailboxes equal to 50% of Microsoft 365 licences, without extra storage (rounded down). Users marked as preserved move to a preserve licence. Storage is provided according to the number of user-based licences purchased.
- Floors / minimums
- Backups of further users fail once consumption exceeds the allocation plus a buffer of 5% of licences or 100, whichever is lower.
