Definition
Billing documentation: "A host is any physical or virtual OS instance that you monitor with Datadog. It could be a server, VM, node (in the case of Kubernetes), App Service Plan instance (in the case of Azure App Service), or Heroku dyno (in the case of the Heroku platform)."
Counting rules
Metered hourly. On the high watermark plan the billable count is the maximum (high-water mark) of the lower 99 percent of the month's hourly counts, so the top 1 percent of hours is excluded. Hosts with the Agent and VMs discovered by the AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or vSphere integrations both count, but a VM with the Agent that is also discovered by an integration counts once. Hosts with status INACTIVE do not count. An Agent installed inside each container makes each container a host.
Floors / minimums
No minimum on the price list; the Free plan covers up to 5 hosts. Commitments are set by Order.
