Datadog

Datadog provides a SaaS observability and security platform covering infrastructure monitoring, APM, log management and related products, with an open-source agent installed on monitored hosts. Products are billed by usage units such as hosts, ingested data or credits, on annual, month-to-month or on-demand terms.

  1. Datadog lists prices per billing unit (for example per infrastructure host per month) with separate rates for annual, month-to-month and on-demand billing.[1]

  2. Hosts are metered hourly, and the billable host count is the high-water mark of the lower 99 percent of hourly usage in the month, excluding the top 1 percent.[2]

  3. The billing cycle begins on the first of the month (UTC), and the first month is prorated from the sign-up date.[3]

  4. Log Management ingestion is priced per GB of uncompressed data ingested for processing (or compressed data scanned for rehydration), with an annual rate and a separate on-demand rate.[4]

  5. The Datadog Agent source code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0.[5]
