Xero pricing plans are the regional price lists that, under section 15 of the Terms of use, become part of a customer’s contract. The terms say the pricing plan “may vary by region”, may be updated from time to time, and covers the subscription fee, invoicing, payment, auto-renewal and cancellation terms.[7] Each country page shows three to five tiers, each billed monthly, with no per-user fee. A larger plan raises the entry-plan caps and adds included quantities for payroll, expenses and projects.[1][2]
Editions
United States
The United States page sells three plans in USD, with prices that “do not include applicable taxes”.[1]

| Established | $97 | 180 day forecast, KPIs and ratios, multiple currencies, projects, employee expense and mileage claims, benchmarking, international bill payments |
Optional add-ons are Xero Payroll, powered by Gusto, and on Growing and Established, Inventory Plus. Auto-reconcile is optional on Early at $5.00 per month.[1]
United Kingdom
Prices are in GBP per month and exclude VAT.[2]
| Plan | Monthly price | Included limits |

Xero’s earlier Starter, Standard and Premium plans in the United Kingdom stopped being sold when the current plans became available on 12 September 2024.[2] Optional UK extras include company accounts and tax (£120 excluding VAT billed annually) and contractor CIS returns (£5 per month).[2]
Australia
Prices are in AUD and include GST.[3]

|---|---|---|
| Ignite | $37 | Entry plan with an invoice cap |

| Ultra | $500 | Adds multi-entity consolidation and advanced forecasting with Syft, priority support and targeted data restore |
The Ignite price and the larger Ultimate and Ultra prices appear in the plan data of the pricing page rather than in a fixed table, so they should be checked against the live selector before use.[3]
New Zealand
Prices are in NZD and exclude GST.[4] Ignite is $37, Grow $89, Comprehensive $117 and Ultimate $135. Ignite sends quotes and 20 invoices and enters 5 bills. Payroll is optional at $4 per person on Ignite, and Grow, Comprehensive and Ultimate include 1, 5 and 10 people. Expenses and projects follow the same ladder as Australia, with $5 per additional expenses user and $7 per additional projects user.[4]
Canada
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes.[5] Starter is $25, Standard $60 and Premium $80. Starter sends quotes and 20 invoices and enters 5 bills. Forecast length rises from 30 to 60 to 180 days, and Premium adds multiple currencies and benchmarking. Employee expense claims (from $5 per month) and project tracking (from $10 per month) are optional on all three plans, and Hubdoc is included “as long as it’s connected to your Xero subscription”.[5]
Metrics
Plans are priced by Subscription, one per organisation. The limits that differ between tiers are:
- Approved invoices per month. The United States footnote says “Invoice limits for the Early plan apply to both approving and sending invoices”, and that transactions initiated by app partners may count.[1] In Xero’s developer documentation the Early plan allows 20 approved receivable invoices and 5 approved payable invoices per month, counted by invoice date.[8]
- Payroll person, Expenses user and Projects user, described in Xero payroll, expenses, projects and bill payment add-ons.
- Online bill payment, included monthly counts of domestic payments on UK and Australian plans.[2][3]
Counting / floors
Minimum term. None is stated. The plans auto-renew monthly “until they are cancelled”, and the Terms of use let the subscriber terminate on one month’s notice.[1][7]
Changing plan. A customer who later changes to a less expensive plan can do so “1 month after upgrading”. See Downgrade is allowed one month after an upgrade.[1]
Tax. The United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canadian prices exclude tax; United States taxes are calculated from the billing address before payment, and the Australian prices include GST.[1][2][3][4][5] See United States prices exclude tax and can change at any time and Australian prices include GST.
Usage charges in arrears. Subscription fees are invoiced at the end of the monthly period, and usage charges for payroll, projects or expenses, or chargeable direct bank feeds, are invoiced for the previous month.[2] The FAQ question “Can I pay the subscription annually?” is answered by describing monthly invoicing and payment on the invoice date.[2]
Payment fees. Online invoice payments carry payment fees that are separate from the plan, and where payment fees apply “any payment fees are in addition to your Xero monthly base subscription amount” and “are not eligible for subscription discounts and offers”.[2] See Online invoice payments carry payment fees.
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable. Plans are hosted-service subscriptions with no installation or hardware rules.
Cloud / BYOL
Not applicable. There is no bring-your-own-licence option, and a subscription bought through a connected platform is priced by that platform rather than by the regional plan.[7]
Programs
Free period. The Terms of use provide a free period when a customer first signs up, based on the terms specified at the time; a selected plan gives all that plan’s features while the trial edition is limited.[7] The Canadian page describes starting with access to all features for 30 days before choosing a plan.[5]
Introductory discount. At retrieval on 2026-10-08, the United States, Australian, New Zealand and Canadian pages advertise 80% off for the first 3 months, and the United Kingdom page 90% off for the first 6 months, each only for a customer’s first organisation bought on xero.com.[1][2][3][4][5] The discount “applies to base” plan subscriptions and “does not apply to any additional charges for add-ons, usage and payment fees”, and it cannot be combined with another offer.[1] See Introductory discounts apply only to the base plan and Free period and introductory offers.
Out of scope
This article does not cover Xero Payroll, Expenses, Projects and bill payment usage rules beyond the plan inclusions, partner-only plans such as Cashbook and Ledger, developer plans, other Xero editions (for example Singapore, South Africa and Ireland), or price changes after 2026-10-08. The pricing pages for those editions are separate.
