Visma licensing

This article is an overview of how the Visma group licenses its accounting, payroll, ERP and project software, which is sold by separate national Visma companies under their own terms. Deeper articles cover e-conomic, Netvisor, Visma Net and Severa, and Youforce. It is not legal advice.

On This Page

Visma licensing is not one licence. Visma’s group website says that it “is not used to offer software products or services directly to end users” and that “software products and services are provided by the respective Visma companies, each providing its own website”.[1] The site is run by Visma Software International AS, an entity fully owned by Visma AS and responsible for group-level operations within the Visma Group.[1] The group describes its model as combining “the agility of a local brand with the industrial scale of a global leader”, and its brands page lists, among others, e-conomic, Tripletex, Netvisor, Spiris, PowerOffice and Nmbrs.[2] For a software asset manager the practical consequence is that a Visma entitlement has to be traced to a brand, a country and a contract. There is no Visma master agreement to read.

This wiki covers the Visma brands for which the vendor publishes licensing terms or prices on its own domains: e-conomic in Denmark, Netvisor and Severa from Visma Solutions Oy in Finland, Visma Net from Norway and Youforce in the Netherlands. Other Visma brands, such as Tripletex and Spiris, are outside this coverage.

Editions

The brand-level products and their contracting terms, in the order of the deeper articles:

Brand Country and contracting entity Public terms and price documents Main metric
e-conomic Denmark; Visma e-conomic A/S Subscription terms valid from 2026-01-01 and a price page[3][8] Postings per year and users
Netvisor Finland; Visma Solutions Oy General terms version 3.1 and a price page[4][9] Revenue category and transactions
Severa Finland; Visma Solutions Oy Price page only[5] User
Visma Net Norway; price page published by Visma Software Nordic Price page only[6] Invoice and payment documents
Youforce Netherlands; Youforce B.V. General delivery terms, January 2026[7] Employees

Netvisor’s general terms cover both Netvisor and Fivaldi, and name Visma Solutions Oy as provider.[4] Youforce’s terms define Youforce as the legal entity “Youforce B.V.” which is part of the Visma group, and the Visma group as Visma Nederland B.V. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries.[7] See Visma presents its brands as locally operated companies.

Metrics

Each brand uses its own unit. None is defined at group level.

  • Postings and users (e-conomic). The plan is chosen by the number of postings a year, from 1,000 upward, and extra users are charged per user per month. A posting is a record in the accounts, made each time an account is debited or credited.[3][8]
  • Revenue and transactions (Netvisor). Pricing is based on revenue and realised transactions, and all packages have unlimited users.[9]
  • Users (Severa). Each package is priced per user per month.[5]
  • Documents and companies (Visma Net). User access is free and unlimited; pricing follows invoice documents, payment documents and extra companies.[6]
  • Employees (Youforce). The January payroll count sets the annual fee.[7]

In the documents retrieved, user count is a weak driver of cost: e-conomic, Netvisor, Visma Net and Youforce charge for business volume (postings, revenue, documents, employees), and only Severa and e-conomic’s extra users scale with seats. The catalog rows record each unit with the vendor’s own wording.

Counting / floors

Floors differ widely:

  • e-conomic: every package includes at least 1,000 postings a year; exceeding the chosen limit moves the agreement automatically to the next limit with the new price effective from the moment of excess.[3][8]
  • Netvisor: three months’ notice from the end of the month of termination, with charges until the end of the notice period.[4]
  • Visma Net: “Ingen bindingstid eller oppsigelsetid”, meaning no binding or notice period.[6]
  • Youforce: an initial term of three years unless the agreement says otherwise, tacit renewal for periods of equal length, and six months’ notice at term end.[7]

Virtualization & partitioning

Not applicable. All covered products are delivered as software-as-a-service. e-conomic’s terms say the application is provided as “software as a service” and that the user never acquires the application or a copy.[3] Netvisor’s terms define the Service as a financial management service using the SaaS model.[4]

Cloud / BYOL

Not applicable. No covered brand offers bring-your-own-licence or on-premises licences in the documents retrieved. Integration is through each brand’s API: Netvisor’s API agreement does not authorise reselling or re-licensing Visma solutions or commercialising the interface to other customers, and runs on 90 days’ notice.[10]

Programs

Programs are brand-level: the e-conomic administrator module lets an accountant manage and pay for client agreements; Netvisor has an API partner agreement and a first-month and trial offer; Severa has a 30-day trial; Visma Net has a no-commitment subscription delivered with certified partners; and Youforce has an initial term and renewal construct.

Audits and compliance

Visma’s group-level notice contains no software audit clause. It states that business-to-business disputes follow the applicable contract, and “in the absence of contractual dispute resolution provisions” Norwegian law and the competent courts of Oslo apply.[1] Audit-like rights sit in brand contracts. Netvisor’s terms allow Visma to request information to demonstrate compliance and, if that is insufficient, to inspect the client’s premises, with the inspection separately agreed within 14 days of the request.[4] See Visma may inspect the client’s premises to verify compliance. The e-conomic terms instead rely on unique logins (a breach is a material breach) and a ban on sharing administrator module access with the bookkeeping company.[3]

Out of scope

This article does not cover Visma brands without retrievable licensing terms (including Tripletex, Spiris, PowerOffice and Nmbrs), Visma’s trust centre and privacy documents, or any Dutch brand other than Youforce, the name used in the retrieved terms. Service level agreements, data processing agreements and partner programmes other than those named above are not described.
