Informatica MDM SaaS licensing is how Informatica sells its cloud master data management products: MDM SaaS for the Customer 360, Product 360, Supplier 360, Reference 360, Custom Domain and Any Domain solutions, and MDM Cloud Edition - Product 360. The products are subscriptions described in the Cloud and Product Description Schedule (CPDS) 39.2, effective 2026-09-11, and ordered under the Informatica License and Services Agreement (ILSA).[1][2] Unlike Intelligent Data Management Cloud, MDM SaaS is not bought with IPUs. The subscription quantity is the number of master data records kept in the MDM Hub, counted per Data Domain, plus the users and environments that come with it.[1]
Editions
MDM SaaS is sold in two record models, each available for several solutions:[1]
| Record model | Solutions in CPDS 39.2 | Catalog SKU rows |
|---|---|---|
| Unconsolidated Records | Customer 360, Product 360, Supplier 360, Custom Domain, Any Domain | Customer 360 Unconsolidated Records, Product 360 Unconsolidated Records |
| Consolidated Records | Customer 360, Product 360, Supplier 360, Custom Domain, Any Domain, with Additional Source Records per solution | Customer 360 Consolidated Records |
| Reference data | Reference 360 Records |
Add-ons are sold separately: MDM SaaS - Business Named User, MDM SaaS - Full Sandbox, Pre-release Org, Additional Production Org or Sub-org, and Additional Sandbox Org or Sub-org.[1]
MDM Cloud Edition - Product 360 is a separate hub product “subscribed per Environment” for the Product Catalog Data Domain. It includes ten MDM Cloud Edition - Admin Named Users, unlimited Background Service Named Users, 100 GB of media storage, a high-availability Production Environment, a Full and a Partial Sandbox, up to 10% record updates per day and 25 concurrent Users. Storage is sized at 400 KB per Product 360 record.[1]
Metrics
Three catalog metric rows use Informatica’s own terms:
- Unconsolidated Record. A record “pertaining to a single Data Domain, from a single data source” brought into the Cross Reference repository. It is unconsolidated “when such data record is assigned a unique primary key identifier within the applicable data source”. A record that arrives in several extracts, is refreshed periodically or is stored in several places still counts once. The total covers all unique Source Records for each root business entity, including enrichments and records created in the Business User Interface.[1]
- Consolidated Record. A master record “created by the Informatica MDM Product by merging duplicate records from multiple sources”, counted by its unique key identifier (for example Customer ID, SKU number or item ID).[1]
- MDM SaaS Business Named User. Gives full functionality of the subscribed MDM SaaS solutions, including business, read-only and administration rights. Each additional subscription “allows one (1) additional unique Named User”, subscribed per User in the Production Org.[1]
The CPDS defines a User as “a natural person or digital entity identified as a specific user”. Only active Named Users may access the product, and a Named User may be replaced when the replaced user no longer has access.[1] For the general pattern, see named-user licensing.
Counting / floors
What is counted. An Unconsolidated Records subscription requires the customer to subscribe to “the number of Unconsolidated Records in Production and maintained in Customer’s MDM Hub during the Subscription Period”, per Data Domain record type.[1] Customer 360 splits into Customer B2B, Customer B2C and Healthcare Professional Data Domains, and Product 360 uses the Product Unconsolidated Record domain.[1]
Duplicates of master records. “If duplicates of Consolidated Records are maintained for multiple purposes (e.g., business unit, brand, reporting, etc.), then all of those Consolidated Records need to be licensed or subscribed” (Duplicate Consolidated Records kept for different purposes must each be licensed).[1]
Source Records behind Consolidated Records. Additional Source Records subscriptions cover Source Records beyond the entitlement, per Data Domain. They “do not grant additional” Consolidated Records capacity, and each Source Record “can only contribute to one (1) Consolidated Record of the same Data Domain”.[1]
Daily update allowance. Each records subscription includes daily record updates (create, update or delete) of up to 0.5% of the records subscribed for Production, real-time and batch combined. Initial batch loads and batch onboarding of new sources are exempt (MDM SaaS daily record updates capped at 0.5 percent of subscribed Production records).[1]
Storage. Storage capacity is calculated from Production and Sandbox records, at 14 KB per Unconsolidated Record and 56 KB per Consolidated Record. Customers that exceed it “must subscribe to additional storage capacity to cover their usage for the remainder of the Subscription Period”. Record history is deleted after three months in the Full Sandbox and one month in the Partial Sandbox (MDM SaaS storage sized at 14 KB per Unconsolidated Record; excess storage must be subscribed).[1]
Users and concurrency. Each records subscription includes 100 MDM SaaS Business Named Users per Org. For Any Domain, that 100 is in total, not in addition to the users included with Customer 360, Reference 360 or Product 360. The Production Org is sized for concurrent requests up to 10% of subscribed Business Named Users, “capped at a maximum of one hundred (100) concurrent requests” (MDM SaaS Production Org concurrency sized at 10 percent of Business Named Users, capped at 100).[1]
Unlimited. For MDM SaaS - Any Domain - Unlimited - Unconsolidated Records, Unlimited means the customer “is not subscribing to a specific maximum quantity of MDM SaaS records during the Subscription Period of an Order for deployment in a single parent Org”.[1]
Orgs and Sandboxes
Only the Production Org has Disaster Recovery Support. The included environments and their limits are:[1]
| Environment | Records allowed | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Production Org (1 included) | Subscribed Production records | Sized to the subscription; DR support |
| Full Sandbox (1 included) | Equal to the Production count | Test purposes; history kept three months |
| Partial Sandbox (1 included) | 25% of Production records, up to 15 million | Development purposes; history kept one month |
| Both sandboxes together | Up to 125% of Production records, neither above 100% | MDM SaaS sandboxes may hold up to 125 percent of Production records in aggregate |
| Pre-release Org (add-on) | Up to 25,000 records | Non-production testing of new features; Technical Preview functionality |
Additional Full Sandboxes are subscribed per Production Org, whatever the number of Data Domains. Fees are based on the records at purchase, and buying more records later also triggers “the associated additional MDM SaaS - Full Sandbox fees”. A Full Sandbox may not be used in Production and supports only one Production Org (MDM SaaS Full Sandbox fees rise when Production records are added).[1]
Additional Production Orgs or Sub-orgs are subscribed per Org. They let a customer split Production, but “the total number of records must not exceed the number of records that Customer was subscribed to deploy in the original Production Org” (Additional Production Orgs share, and may not exceed, the original record entitlement).[1]
Included integration and data quality services
Each MDM SaaS Org includes data synchronization, cloud mapping, streaming ingestion, application integration and data quality capabilities. These “can be used only in conjunction with” the MDM subscription, with MDM as the sole source or target. They include unlimited Secure Agents and integration tasks where MDM is the source or target.[1] Using the address Verify function needs either a separate Premium Address Cleansing for Cloud subscription or enough IDMC IPUs. Connectors beyond those supported in the Connector PAM are bought separately.[1]
Virtualization & partitioning
Not applicable to MDM SaaS, which Informatica hosts. Secure Agents installed by the customer for MDM integrations are unlimited where MDM is the source or target.[1]
Cloud / BYOL
MDM SaaS is a Cloud Service with no bring-your-own-license route. Requests to change where Cloud Services are provided “will result in additional fees, including for transition services” (Changing the Cloud Services location incurs additional fees).[1]
Programs
MDM SaaS is ordered as a subscription under the ILSA. Quantities and duration “may not be decreased during the applicable term of an Order” unless the Order says otherwise (Quantities and duration cannot be decreased during the Order Term), and Informatica may review compliance once every 12 months (Informatica may review compliance once every 12 months on 10 business days notice).[2] Record counts are therefore best reconciled against the Order before each renewal quote, which Informatica sends about 60 days before the Order Term ends.[2]
