- Minitab desktop installations are licensed by one of four mutually exclusive properties: LICENSE_PORTAL (sign-in to an online account, version 20 or later), PRODUCT_KEY (single-user), LICENSE_SERVER (multi-user, Minitab License Manager) or FILE_LOC (licence file); without any of them the free trial is installed.
