- Email Security deployment KB: Mimecast Email Security is deployed either MX-based (Cloud Gateway) or API-based. The choice made at onboarding is irreversible; changing method requires a new Mimecast account. Business continuity features (backup, restore, Large File Send, Secure Messaging) are not currently available with API-based deployment. (KB article undated; as published on 2026-09-30.)
