- FortiOS administration guide: since FortiOS 7.4.9 and 7.6.4, a FortiGate with an invalid FMWR licence, or on a minor version past end of engineering support, schedules a required upgrade to the latest patch of its current minor version. The upgrade can be postponed in seven-day steps but not cancelled. Expired support therefore changes device behaviour, not only entitlement. (vendor page undated; as published on 2026-09-30)
- Applies when
- The Firmware & General Updates (FMWR) licence is invalid or the minor version has reached EOES.
