- An annual AMI subscription is a one-time upfront payment covering one EC2 instance of the instance type specified for 12 months; any other instance type or usage above the number of annual subscriptions is billed at the hourly rate. Hourly AMI software is rounded up to the nearest whole hour. BYOL AMI listings carry no Marketplace software charge; the license key is bought outside AWS Marketplace and enforced by the seller.
