- Tenable Nessus Licensing: "Tenable Nessus Professional — A single subscription price." Every deployment needs a plugin feed activation code, "which identifies which version you are licensed for—and, if applicable, how many IP addresses you can scan, how many remote scanners you can link, and how many Tenable Agents you can link to Tenable Nessus Manager."
- Counting rules
- One activation code per active scanner: the code "cannot be shared between scanners." A code may be transferred to another system; the most recently activated system is the active instance and only it receives plugin updates. Tenable states that continuously transferring one code between scanners to keep concurrent deployments may violate the EULA. Nessus Professional scanning of IP addresses is unlimited. Scanners linked to Tenable One Vulnerability Management or managed by Tenable Security Center are licensed through that product.
