- SL tier; NPM element
- Definition
- NPM licensing model: "NPM is licensed according to the largest number of the following types of monitored network elements: Nodes ... Interfaces ... Volumes". Nodes are devices such as routers, switches, servers, access points and modems; interfaces are single points of network traffic such as switch ports, virtual interfaces, sub-interfaces and VLANs; volumes are logical disks.
- Counting rules
- The tier number is the maximum for each element type separately (SL100 = up to 100 nodes, 100 interfaces and 100 volumes). NetFlow Traffic Analyzer uses the same SL levels (nodes and interfaces) and must match the NPM tier. Licences from different modules add together (NPM SL500 plus SAM AL150 allows 650 nodes).
- Floors / minimums
- SL100 is the smallest tier; SLX is virtually unlimited but one polling engine monitors up to 12,000 elements at the default polling interval.
