Definition
SteelHead Family Spec Sheet, Flex Subscription license table: Flex-25 to Flex-6000 set a maximum optimized throughput in Mbps; note 1: "Max throughput defined by license. Higher capacity can be unlocked with higher throughput license." SteelHead User Guide 10.3.0: performance is tied to the appliance limit or the licence limit, whichever is smaller.
Counting rules
One Flex licence per SteelHead (physical xx80/xx90, Virtual or Cloud). The usable optimized WAN capacity is the smaller of the licence tier and the model limit. The spec sheet notes the WAN capacity limit is enforced on outbound optimized traffic on appliances.
Floors / minimums
Smallest tier Flex-25 (25 Mbps). Model ceilings apply, e.g. CXA-02090 up to FLEX-200 and CXA-8090 up to FLEX-6000.
