- Counting rules
- SQL Server instances on a server are not counted; every node of a Windows cluster, including passive nodes, needs a licence. Cloud ratios (Product Specific Terms §24.3): 1 Azure Managed Instance, 1 Azure Flexible Server or up to 5 single Azure SQL Databases; 1 Amazon RDS DB instance; 1 Aurora DB instance (writer or reader); 1 Google Cloud SQL instance per entitlement. Servers beyond the licences go to the Awaiting state and are not monitored.
