- Essentials EULA s.1.1: "Active Users" means the number of users provisioned on the Service for purposes of email filtering, receive security awareness training or interface access and as counted by the Service. Aliases, distribution groups and other functional accounts are not counted so long as they are properly configured as such.
- Counting rules
- Licence grant (s.2.1) is for "the permitted number of Active Users". Aliases may not be used to consolidate several Mailboxes under one Active User, and Active Users may never be fewer than the Mailboxes actively scanned (s.3.7). If Active Users scanned exceed Licensed Usage, Proofpoint may raise Licensed Usage and invoice pro rata (s.4.3).
