managed node; per node
Definition
Chef EULA s.3.1.7: "“Node” means each individual component of your system, physical or virtual (i.e., server, workstation, IP router, virtual machine, or other device or component) that is assessed, installed, configured, updated, scanned and/or managed through the use of Progress® Chef® Infra®".
Counting rules
A virtual machine with a unique IP address is a separate Node from its physical host. Nodes are not interchangeable or reusable among components. For AWS Marketplace and auto-scaling, count the peak number of unique instances on which Chef runs in a 24-hour period, including short-lived instances.
