- PKI-only licensing; certificate count
- Definition
- Vault Enterprise 1.21 and later "maintain a count of every certificate issued across all mounts of the built-in PKI secrets engine." Vault Enterprise 1.21 introduced licensing for clusters based on the number of certificates issued through the PKI secrets engine.
- Counting rules
- Counts are not de-duplicated: two certificates with the same CN and SANs count twice. Counts are persisted about every two minutes and attributed to the day they are persisted. A PKI-only licence key puts the cluster in PKI-only mode, rejecting requests to other secrets engine mounts.
