- Definition
- Billing Dimensions in Confluent Cloud: "An eCKU is a unit of capacity for Basic, Standard, Enterprise, and Freight Kafka clusters in Confluent Cloud. Unlike CKUs, eCKUs scale elastically: you pay only for the capacity you use in a given hour, up to a fixed ceiling."
- Counting rules
- Billed per eCKU per hour. For each hour the customer pays for the maximum number of eCKUs used in that hour (usage oscillating between 2 and 3 eCKUs bills 3). eCKU consumption is driven by ingress, egress, partitions (pre-replication leader partitions), client connections, connection attempts and requests, each with a per-eCKU limit by cluster type. A cluster at zero consumption on all dimensions costs nothing.
- Floors / minimums
- A minimum capacity applies once any capacity is used. Minimum eCKU: Basic 1, Standard 1 (2 for the 99.99% SLA), Enterprise 1 (2 for the 99.99% SLA), Freight 2. Maximum eCKU: Basic 50, Standard 10, Enterprise 32, Freight 152. Basic: first eCKU free on the public price list.
