- Aliases
- Ingested terabyte; FET; per TB; capacity
- Definition
- License Program Guide, Licensing definitions, "Ingested (Front-End) terabyte": for traditional backup Commvault counts the application size of the latest full or synthetic full backup for each subclient; where an agent has multiple backup sets, the largest is counted. For archive-based operations (including OnePass) it is the last backup cycle of each subclient: the latest full or synthetic full plus all incrementals since. The documentation defines a TB as 1024^4 bytes.
- Counting rules
- Counted per CommCell (or SaaS tenant) as the aggregate of all active subclients. Excluded: transaction log and index server backups, duplicate copies of the same job across storage policy copies, deconfigured clients, deleted subclient policies, secondary deduplicated Silo jobs and imported jobs. Jobs of clients licensed by OI, VOI, socket or endpoint user licences are removed from capacity. Auto Recovery counts the raw size of replicated source data; eDiscovery and Risk Analysis count the raw size of indexed data.
- Floors / minimums
- None stated; capacity is sold per TB (packages in 1 TB units per the bundling table). Hard-enforced licences restrict functionality at about 110% of the purchased total.
