- Definition
- Purchasing FAQ: "One seat refers to either a Microsoft 365 user or a shared mailbox." The Licensing Policy subscription licence backs up one seat of the Microsoft 365 subscription service.
- Counting rules
- On-premises/online store: sold in packs of five seats (Backup Advanced); a backed-up seat with access to backed-up SharePoint or Teams counts once; external users and unlicensed users with only site access are not licensed. Cyber Protect Cloud per-workload mode: only active users with a protected mailbox, OneDrive or access to a protected company-level resource are counted; local and cloud agents consume separate quotas, so backing up the same users with both is charged twice.
