Acronis

Acronis makes backup, disaster recovery and cyber protection software for businesses and service providers, and Acronis True Image for home users. Corporate products are licensed per protected device on subscription, and the service-provider platform is billed per workload or per GB.

  1. A single licence is required to protect a single device (physical or virtual), even when the software is used via bootable media rather than installed; each node of a cluster must be licensed.[1]

  2. Device licences are non-transferable and non-assignable, except that a licence may move to a replacement machine when the original becomes non-functioning or obsolete and is taken out of service.[2]

  3. Acronis Cyber Protect is available with subscription licences; Acronis Cyber Protect Connect is licensed per end user as a subscription, with a free edition limited to 15-minute remote sessions.[3]

  4. Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud offers service providers solution-based licensing (one SKU per workload with pooled included storage) or service-based licensing billed per protected workload or per GB of protected data; each customer tenant uses one model at a time.[4]

  5. Acronis True Image is sold as 1-year subscriptions in Essentials, Advanced and Premium plans, covering one to five devices depending on the licence, with updates and new versions during the active subscription.[5]
